After you guys voted and crowned new winners for 2012-2013, its my turn to shower my favourite products of 2012 with the P&B Awards (*ta-ta-ta-tataaaaa*) . I feel like last year i tried much lesser products than usual- maybe because half of my time went in the house, the wedding and other stuff but beauty kind of took a back seat in 2012. Definitely changing that in 2013- definite focus on not just beauty but skincare routines.Yours Truly is not getting any younger!
Ofcourse these results are skewed towards brands i usually try or am attracted to, so again they dont reflect the ‘BEST’ in the category but they were the best of what i tried!
Tried a ton of these this past year. Floating Lotus was this gorgeous, really pale, milky pink which i surprisingly loved.
Close Second: Revlon Superlustrous Lipglosses
(I just feel like iv gone through 3 tubes of Revlon papaya, and i love some of the other shades in it as well. They have a really nice consistency, texture and nice shade range, They also have the perfect opacity level that i like)
(I havent tried too many high end ones except maybe Lancome and Estee Lauder. Oh and Dior…and even though i love the lightweight feathery texture of the Lancome L’absolu Nu Lipsticks, just the kind of shade variety and the colors and textures you get in Mac is unsurpassable. )
Close Seconds: Faces Satin Matte Lipsticks , Maybelline Colorsensational Lipsticks, Colorbar Take me as i am
(I was a fan of the Colorbar velvet mattes, but didnt like that they dried up. The Creme touch bring the pigmentation of the velvet mattes and the moisture of creme lipsticks. They also last a decent amount of time-not as long as the velvet mattes, but definitely better than most drugstore brands. Specially love Nude Coral in this.)
WINNER BEST LIP PRODUCT (OTHER THAN LIPGLOSS/LIPSTICK/BALM):
2012 was not a blush year for me, but nothing except MAC really tempted me. I loved my MAC Supernova, i absolutely am addicted to my Mac Mocha and i didnt really love anything else that much
I think these are highly under-rated. Yes, they have shimmer- but its a gorgeous, sheeny kind of shimmer. I own Day Sheen and Night Sheen and i love em both. Specially Night Sheen when you just want a glowy golden cheek- i just cant photograph it properly to show how glowy and gorgeous it is because it keeps looking matte in the photographs, but you may want to check out IVC’s review on them for better photos.
Iv tried Dixie, and Iv tried Rude and i love how these feel! The color range is not huge, but there is something for everyone. Reviews to follow
I own a couple of these-Tea Rose, Glow, Hot Pink. Really like the texture, and glide-ability!

COLORBAR RADIANT GLOW HIGHLIGHTER PEN
This year im going to give it to Colorbar. Last Year, Lakme Took it with Lakme absolute launching right at the end of 2011. But 2012 didnt see any other big launches from Lakme. Colorbar on the other hand came out with their take me as i am lipcolors, their cocktail bright nail polishes and a ton of other stuff…i dont like the fact that they hiked up random prices of items, but its definitely been the more active brand for me.
I dont think this category has that much competition-Maybelline really did step up this year with some amazing new launches like the color tattoo eyeshadows, the hyperglossy eyeliner, and some new mascaras but in terms of International Beauty Brands, there is no brand which generates as much buzz as Mac does. Loreal deserves a mention because L’or Electric was a fun collection, but otherwise so significant excitement generated from any other major beauty brand.
For me there were a lot of dissapointing products:
Lakme Absolute Lip last was definitely one of the worst products i tried, and after all the buzz about it being like this longwear lip stain etc, it was a total bummer. I also think that to an extent the Clinique Chubby Sticks were slightly disspointing not because they were bad , but because the hype around it was too much for what is essentially a tinted balm. Mac Pro Long Wear Lipglasses were also dissapointing-they felt sooo sticky and gloopy almost like glue!
