Meet Ramneet

A gorgeous Sikh bride from Delhi who recently tied the knot in full Punjabi Fan Fare !!! She met her now husband on a flight to London, and the rest as they say is history!!  Ramneet chose to wear top notch designers, and incorporated some interesting elements into her outfits. Eg: Her Wedding Day Suit was with a veil!!  Read more from this fun, effervescent  bride below  whose wedding i got minute by minute updates of,  from a close friend P&B Real Brides: Meet Ramneet !

Hi Ramneet, so where are your from??
I am from delhi  and my husband is from  Kanpur. The wedding took place in Delhi! We chose Leela Kempinski fot the Mehendi, Pushpanjali Farm for the Barat , and the Pheras took place in Royal Orchid, Mahipalpur!

So iv been told, you guys met on a flight !!! Omg ! Thats like totally a ‘Hum Tum” Story!
Haha yes , we met on a flight to London in 2010.  It was just destiny i guess that the guy sitting next to me was a Sardar , my age, and my wavelength too !After London,  he  went to New York thereon and i came back to Delhi .  We continued to keep in touch through facebook, emails and never ending phone calls. Gradually he became my confidante…my best friend and before we realised we were in love (August 2011 was when he proposed to me!). A major question was how to restart our lives because i did not want to leave india and he was settled in New York. He then took a decision of moving back to kanpur (his hometown) and now we are married.

Bridal Lehenga by Sabyasachi P&B Real Brides: Meet Ramneet !

Your outfits are so detailed and ornate. Where are they from?

Bridal Lehenga was a simple choice . Since i was always told that i have very “bengali” features,  Sabyasachi was my obvious choice…plus i wanted to go easy on the “bling” quotient on the wedding . It was the cocktail outfit and pheras suit that took the maximum time as i wanted to wear something different yet traditional .
Cocktail: i wanted to look stylish, traditional and opulent all that the same time. And to find all 3 in one it took me 2months of research and lots of patience  before finalling zero-ing in on the Blue anarkali Lehenga by Rimple & Harpree.
Pheras: i had deceided on one thing … my pheras outfit has to have a veil cz this will be that one day in my entire lifetime that nothing will look “too much”. But the big question was who would do that veil thing for me…it took me a tour of 3 cities (delhi, ludhiana, jaipur) to zero down on this outfit. What makes this outfit different is the dupatta that has a veil attached to it with the help of velcro that was taken off immediately after the pheras without disturbing my hair do or the dupatta setting. This outfit too was from Rimple & Harpreet, and i think the ‘This is it’ moment arrived only when my mom furiously told me’ Ok now THIS IS IT!’  .

Gota Patti Lehenga for Mehendi from Jaipur

So tell us about the events in the wedding.

Our Wedding was managed by Acme Events and  all the functions were beautiful. Although my favourite was the
Cocktail. I was seeing Amar for the first time after about a month long separation (our families dint let us meet for one month so as to build the excitement)…plus we had our performance then. The songs we chose to perform on were the ones that we had an emotional connect with  We performed on 2 songs:  My jigar da tukda – ladies v/s ricky bahl (Haha, i love this song!) and  Mannata- heros  .

Who was yr makeup artist ?
My Makeup was taken care of by Anu Kaushik who did a really great job in ensuring i was looking bridal but not OTT. My only complaints were that my hair kind of opened in the Cocktail .
Where did you buy yr jewellery from ?
The jewellery was lovingly made by my mother over our growing up years with no “one” shop or place to mention

Hi..
Just a word of caution if u are ordering from rimple and harpreet.
I ordered my outfits 3 months prior to the wedding date and received them just one day before the cocktail function. That too after she saw the card. For ceremonial reasons I wanted a dupatta and paid for it too bit she dint make one.it was very embarrassing.
My wedding outfits (the one with a Velcro) had all the swarovski falling off during the function itself. My outfit was supposed to have a belt too but that was also not given to me. Caution… BE CAREFUL

Oh wow that is pretty bad – I was quite keen on ordering a few formals after seeing this post but not so sure now…

Missing dupatta for wedding function is pretty bad and the late delivery…. hmmmm

ps I forgot to say in my earlier comment that I also loved your hairstyle at your cocktail function – so elegant!
