Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Pomegranate Punk

Guest Review Written by Priya R. (Light Skin tone, dry to normal skin type)

Product Description:

  • 24hr intensity. Tattoo tenacity. Dare to wear our longest-lasting shadow.
  • Our ink technology creates super-saturated color.
  • Cream gel smoothes on for vibrant color that does not fade.
  • In 8 shades.

My Views:

It’s been a while since Maybelline launched their much hyped “Color Tattoo” in India. So far I have tried Bad to Bronze – which is a very wearable shade for Indian skin tones, as well as  Painted Purple – which gives a  patchy finish and does not go opaque , plus its  not a very flattering shade of the lot. Recently I got  Pomegranate Punk which is a color  that i think is quite flattering for Indian women as well. The shade Pomegranate Punk is  a little hard to explain – its a mixture of pink + burgundy+ red…which sort of ends up looking a bit like a light bronze with a hint of pink  in the end , and really is a complimenting color for Indian skin tones.  Not to mention a hard color to dupe as well !  It has golden micro shimmer in it but it is subtle and not very intense,  making it viable to wear as an everyday color. Of course it works great as a base, but on it’s own too it is a  pretty shade. The packaging is sturdy- A glass pot and somewhat similar to MAC paint pots. Pomegranate Punk is a very pigmented and it goes opaque very quickly on the lids. It can be applied with a brush but since it sets very quickly, fingers work better for the color tattoo’s in general.

Finish wise, with Bad to Bronze I faced the issue of the  color getting wrinkled on the skin but that isn’t the case with Pomegranate Punk. It looks smooth and wrinkle-free on the eyelids. The 24hr intensity claim? Well I didn’t try it out for that insane time but yeah for 8-9 hours on my normal eyelids it stayed on without creasing. And I think it will be near about the same case on oily lids. It only comes off with proper makeup remover and just splashing water.

Pros:

  1. Works well on its own and as a base too
  2. Long lasting on eyes
  3. Does not crease or wrinkle
  4. Cheap dupes to Mac paint pots
  5. Perfect for daytime too
  6. Color goes opaque in single swipe

Cons:

  1. Dries quickly and needs to work faster with

Price: A-

Price: Rs 350

RecommendationThese Maybelline Color Tattoo’s are affordable dupes to Mac paint pots and some colors are really nice to wear. Pomegranate punk is a gorgeous burgundy pink shade with shimmery finish and it is perfect on its own too on lids when you are in a hurry. The texture & pigmentation of Pomegranate punk is smooth & intense and settles quickly on lids so needs to be worked with faster. It stays on eyes the whole day without creasing and it comes off when you want to take it off.

Love Color tattoo a lot..:)
I agree they have to be blended really quick else can get dry and give patchy finish.
Nice review.:)

Is this is a brown or pomegranate shade?
I really need something champagne-y with soft brown hints!

Such a gorgeus shade it is! I love it :) But it becomes a pain to blend once it gets dried up!

Ooh yes, I have this. I wore this with bad to the bronze once and it turned out amazing. I ended up with the prettiest rose gold shade :)
Blending is really a pain though, they set so quickly!
