Colorbar Lip Definer Berry Rose Swatch & Review

You know how in middle school math problems, they give you the most ridiculous situations? I mean, “Raj bought a 1000 watermelons in exchange of  Sanjay’s 350 bananas” and all you can think about is what in the world with Raj & Sanjay do with a 1000 watermelons !!! Also did you notice how people only bought fruit, and nothing else- no toys, no clothes & no makeup ???Thats just plain weird… It would be so much more interesting if they said “Priyam bought 10 lip liners and 3 of them were exactly the same shade “. She (My cousin Priyam) actually did, and  the 3 of the same shade were Colorbar’s Berry Rose Lip Definer Pencils. She just swatched it and fell in love, not realising that this is the same liner she has at home and she wears every single day!!!!

Berry Rose: The Color

I don’t blame her for falling for it, because Berry Rose is an absolutely beautiful deep pink!! It’s closest to what I would call a magenta but it isn’t as its more of a  muted magenta. Berry Rose is quite an appropriate name because it does have a berry, plummy tone to the rose pink color . It’s a shade that darker girls will enjoy just as much as the paler ones – its hard to find pinks that work with dusky skin tones but this definitely hits a sweet spot for them. Not only does it work with a range of lipstick colors, this pretty jewel tone shade works really well on its own too!

Colorbar Lip Definer: Thoughts on the Formula

These Lip Definer Pencils are different from Colorbar’s earlier retractable pencils. These are super-duper long, with a sharpener at the end of one butt. These are really really nice- smooth, creamy and pigmented. Definitely one of the best lip pencils iv come across. They arent’  overly drying either. I cannot categorise them as moisturizing but definitely can be worn comfortably without lips feeling parched . I can’t say they elongate the wear of my lipstick, which is essentially what a lip pencil is supposed to do, but if you want something to line, fill and look pretty then you may want to consider these Colorbar Lip Definers ! I wish Colorbar hadn’t priced them this way though , 550 Rs for a lip pencil from what is considered to be a drugstore brand is really kind of off-putting. I mean 550 Rs for 1 lip pencil for Priyam= 225 eggs  from Rajesh(Just to put it into middle school math perspective ;)   )

Verdict: A-

Price: Rs 550

Recommendation: Colorbar Lip Definer Pencil in Berry Rose is a beautiful, deep berry pink. Its a color that will really flatter dusky skintones just as much as the paler ones. These lip pencils are great- creamy, pigmented and smooth with tons of product but I do think they need to be priced cheaper coming from Colorbar!

Sometimes I wonder why their lipstick is for Rs.250/- but their lip liners are double the price. But I must admit Colorbar is having more and more variety. Lovely shade ^_^.

I don’t bother to buy lip pencils . They are costly and i don’t really think they are necessary.I have 1 light peach brown lip pencil from Rimmel which i had got as gift years ago !I am still trying to finish it……

Priyam April 8, 2013 at 2:39 pm

I dont care for lip liners very much as I can do without them as well and paying such hefty price just seems unnecessary :(

Nithya April 8, 2013 at 6:23 pm

Its such a pretty pink.. Funny how a lip liner costs 550 bucks n a lipstick nearly half the price.. Some of the lip liners are perfect as lip stains , like berry rose :)
