Clothing Haul: 3 Work Wear Tops That Transition From Work to Play!

At the risk of sounding like an alcoholic, i need a Mojito at 10:00 am today ! The heat is going to my brain, and the only thing that can restore some sort of sense around me is a tall glass of iced Mojito!!!! I swear the heat makes me do crazy things, like two days back when i went shopping to the mall and found zero things, i was almost in tears in front of the boy. “There is NOTHINGGGGGGG ” i wailed ” I have no work wear summer clothing, i have no shorts and there is NOTHHHHINNNGGG in the malls” i cried while stomping my feet like a crazy child . He is used to these tantrums by now, so he just rolled his eyes and took me to a different mall. You know when you feel like “I need to spend money” and you go and shop for a lot of stuff and you love half of it and the rest you come back home and say “Hmm…why the hell did i get that? ” . Well thats what happened to me, but im going to be showing you the half that i do think works!

I like work wear clothing to be multi functional-something i can go to work in, but can also transition easily into casual clothing. So when im rushing out from work into a dinner or a movie, i dont need to change. Here are three work wear items i bought, and iv shown different items you can coordinate these with!

Item 1: The Pale “Formal but Casual ” Shirt from Mango

I love the ribbed sides of this shirt-this ensures it fits snugly. The pockets, the low neckline (the first button starts low) and the colour makes this shirt easily transition from work wear to fun wear. Here are some options to team this skirt with:

The shirt can be tucked into dark grey pants, pale white white pants and a beige pencil skirt for work~!

Apart from Jeans, the shirt can be paired with crochet shorts, mint trousers, and white leggings with the shirt tucked out for casual wear !

Item 2 : The Non Shirt Office Wear Top from Zara

whitetop1 whitetopThis pleated white top with leather detailing on the neckline is a great example of a good cross-over top. It may not have a collar, but the high neckline , the colors and the pleating make it look very formal and office appropriate. On the other hand, if teamed with the right accents, it can totally transition into fun wear!

work-wear-outfits-india1The top can be worn tucked out with pinstriped pants, it can look lovely under a dark charcoal blazer or teamed with a black, tulip style skirt for work.

Wearing it under a leather jacket, over black short or dark wash denims make it easily transition into a dinner date!

Item 3: The Wrap Top from Zara

greytop1 greytop2This powder blue wrap top does not photograph well at all! But it looks really nice on. The color is completely summer appropriate and the style ensures that even though its collared, it is very on trend for work and play!

work-wear-outfits-india2Pairing this wrap top with skinny fitted grey pants, or a midi length grey skirt or white trousers make it perfect for work!

casual-wear2Using the pale powder blue color against bold printed trousers, or gold baroque shorts would easily make this a super glam outfit !

With the right accessories, each of these can be played up or down! Ooh want to know my favourite thing from everything i got till now? Its these…

DSC05657These super cute Floral print shorts are from Pantaloons! And no…you cannot multi task these into formal wear!

Loveee those shorts.. I’m not working right now.. But when I was I would wear a funky tank top kind inside my shirt and leave my shirt open for a casual evening after work when I wouldn’t get time to change..

That’s what I like about Zara. A lot of the tops are office appropriate and easily worn outside as well. I like the pleated one! ^_^

I’m another one who has that ribbed shirt from Mango – but in Red. Unfortunately I bought it when I was at my biggest, and it is very loose now even with the ribbing. But I sure love it!

You won’t beleive I throw similar tantrums when I out for shopping, after setting my mood to spend money and a check list in my hand and I get nothing absoultely nothing from my shopping list. I can understand ow it feels.. and luckily my husband too is used to these tantrums and he sweetly consoles me. Just recently i was looking fr maxi dresses and maxi skirts but didn’t find any! :((

I am always trying to make my work/office wear more interesting. And so I try to incorporate a lot of coloured tops and scarves. I liked the pleated white Zara top. It’d look great with white legged trousers for work, and can be teamed up with coloured denims for a casual outing.
