4. Where did you buy your outfits from?

For the engagement , i was pretty sure i wanted to look classy and royal yet not overdone so i went for a ball gown with only a watch and a bracelet for accessory. While i had visited designer showrooms in  mehrauli etc.. i zeroed down to this copper -gold gown from CTC  for its flare  n elegance. I kept my hair semi open with waves to add volume. MUA was Vidya Tikari herself… and their hairstylist was simply amazing.

For the mehendi i was looking for a fun colorful multicolored lehenga… while random shopping in rajouri i stumbled upon this awesome orange-green-purple gota patti lehenga at Bombay selections , Rajouri garden…. it was sheer luck i would say! i wore it as a lehenga saree. For hairstyle i got a punjabi gutt with parandii to complete my look.

For the wedding i was looking for any colour that could bring the bridal charm to my skin , and though i has shortlisted some Fuschia designs, i finally zeroed in on this coral lehenga from CTC, for 1.2 Lakhs.

For the reception i got this beautiful pink saree . It had to be something elegant and radiant for the reception. and i kept my look lady like: neat and classy with an updo. Yhe blouse i got done from a local designer near my place because i wanted something edgy for the look to stand out.

It took me 1 month almost to hunt for my lehenga, As i said…. what it did to my skin told me…that “this is it”.

Advice for brides…: I was pretty sure what looks i wanted on each of my major functions. though it was random chance that on all my major functions i wore dresses by CTC .They do have a plus point that they have such finished products at their store that you really dont have to do much of the worrying about how will the dress turn out after finishing. also with so much variety at one place you just know you have picked something out of a million brilliant dresses.

For trousseau i highly recommend AZA(south ex), Rimple and Harpreet narula couture (south ex n mehrauli stores) ,Kimaya(mehruali)  and  Ratiram n sons (pitampura). I have picked up some brilliant sarees and dresses from these places.

One of the sarees by Rimple and Harpreet NArula i wore for my first lohri function .it was a fuschia Pink saree with a halter neck turqoise blouse. its my personal favorite.

You guys seem to be having a blast. Which event was the most fun?

The most fun function was the reception. and that was when we performed as well. Our song was the title track from “tum mile”. I highly recommend if its one function you must have …it should be the reception becuase u are with the guy for the whole duration… there are no rituals and all you have to do is ‘drink n dance’ and thats exactly what happened… since we r both doctors and i was working all the time even 1 day before my wedding… it was an awesome party for me with no strings attached.

Who was your makeup artist and photographer ?

MUA :Vidya Tikari herself on all 3 major functions. I just loved what she did to me. It was natural, glowing and beautiful,

Photographer : Prem Studio, kamla nagar for conventional and unconventional both. they have been my family favourites for years so we preferred sticking to it.
