NYX Rouge Cream Blush In Rose Petal: Swatches & Review

Guest Review By Rima (Medium fair skin tone and combination skin)

I love the light, simple and fresh makeup look that most Hollywood actresses flaunt on the red carpet; they look so angelic ! Yes, like most of you I too am a die–hard fan of soft and dewy natural makeup. It looks so easy and simple yet it is a tough task to achieve the flawless fresh look. There is a fine line between a dewy  and oily makeup and I admit sometimes i blur the lines between the two. But hey, that was all when I had not known this whole world of beauty blogging, now I am quite an expert when it comes to looking  dewy. Yay!! *grins*

Few months back I ordered  a number of NYX products, and my most used item from these was the NYX Rose Petal Rouge Cream Blush. So I thought of doing a nice review for all of you and here it is.

NYX says: More delicious than peaches and cream? We like to think so. Our velvety smooth mineral Rouge Cream Blush offers a sheer wash of radiant color. The glorious payoff is dewy, sultry and long-lasting.

Packaging: A simple, fuss-free black plastic packaging, with a transparent lid. It has no mirror. I do not feel it can be very travel friendly since I don’t find the lid very sturdy.

Color and Texture: NYX website describes Rose Petal as a rosy pink shade. It is more of a soft, warm peachy pink color and looks very natural on my NC 40 skin tone, I wear it almost every time I am going out for a casual hangout or a movie date, and it adds a soft  glow to my skin.  It gives a sort of natural, healthy flush on my cheeks- the kinds you get post exercise. I could not photograph it that well under natural light so I have attached a picture under flash, hope that helps u all in understanding the natural glow it imparts. Shimmer free, subtle yet non-sticky I just can’t thank myself enough for buying this *grins again* It has a very smooth and creamy texture; it blends really easily on the skin and has great color payoff. I need to apply very little quantity on my cheeks and then  that’s it. I have combination skin , so even though it is  creamy I have never felt my cheeks overly oily or sticky.

Longevity: It lasts for about 4 hours on my cheeks after that the natural flush sort of vanishes.

Pros:

  • Nice shade.
  • Smooth and creamy texture.
  • Shimmer-free.
  • Good color payoff.
  • There are 12 shades to choose from.
  • Also I have heard these blushes are all PETA Approved Cruelty Free and hypoallergenic. If that’s true then I love them.

Cons:

  • Doesn’t have an impressive staying power.
  • Not a very sturdy packaging.
  • Might not suit oily skins.
  • And lastly but most importantly its availability is its biggest con.

Ratings: A

Price: Rs 585/- for 6 gms.

Recommendation: I have a soft corner for this blush; it is my most used item on my dressing table today. I will never get bored of this natural looking blush which adds to my dewy makeup look. Amazing blendability, great color payoff , a beautiful soft color and great creamy texture!! It worked on my combination skin without making it look oily so i say its a must have for dewy makeup lovers!

What a pretty shade! LOVE it! But I’ve heard oily skinned girls should stay away from creme blushes. Is that true, Mehak?

its a pity it doesn’t last ! I have it in ‘Glow’ ..but 2-3 hours and its gone. I use lipsticks as blush most of time and they last more than these and earth trion by lakme.
