Soap and Glory The Glow Lotion (5) Soap  & Glory Glow Lotion Review

Guest Review By Shilpa

Soap and Glory is a brand I always check out in Sephora (not just because it makes such a pretty sight with bubble-gummy packaging but) because the brand talks in such a playful manner. Their tone of voice is spirited, tongue-in-cheek and super engaging. Everything they write on their packs is super fun to read (heck, they even make boring ‘testing’ information interesting, read on to know more). As a result, I have a huge stash of Soap and Glory products but today the focus is on one of my favorites, the Soap and Glory Glow Lotion.

What Soap and Glory says:

What it is: A drop-dead gorgeous highlighting glimmer lotion for the body. Apply tactically to emphasize your best assets. Scented with our Original Pink fragrance.

What it does: Use Glow Lotion all over as a moisturizer, on your neck and shoulders as a fragrant shimmer, or as a stand-in for stockings when you find yourself short of a little shine.

What else you need to know: This lotion is scented with fresh bergamot, strawberries, and mandarin, with floral and fruity mid-notes, and musk, amber and warm vanilla notes on the bottom.

And the testing info I was referring to earlier: Soap & Glory™ formulas are not tested on animals, only very picky people.

Glow Lotion found its way into my skincare stash through a Filipino friend’s recommendation. Always in dresses showing off her slender legs – the Glow lotion is her magic potion. She said the only days she wears jeans is when she doesn’t have time to apply the glow lotion on her legs! Now that is some praise.

My Experience With Soap & Glory Glow Lotion:

Comes in a sturdy transparent plastic bottle showing the pearlized caramel lotion inside. A plastic cap covers the nozzle. The pump dispenser works smoothly and dispenses a beige-pink-with-slight-sheen liquid into your hands.  In terms of viscosity, it is medium thick but absorbs super fast into the skin. Not gloopy or sticky. A little blob of the thing goes a long way and can cover a fair bit of skin area. And by this time, I am delighted with the end result! My skin looks dewy, healthy and radiant with a subtle, sexy glow! No glitter, no shimmer – just well-cared-for-and-looked-after skin.

The fragrance is sophisticated and complex, where you cant really make out what you are smelling, but it smells good. Used in moderation is great, otherwise I feel it may interfere with your perfume. The fragrance also stays with you a long time, over 4-5 hours, will stay longer if you are using other Soap and Glory products with this Original Pink fragrance.

However, even though this is a lotion, it cannot replace a moisturizer. For best results, I think this should be used in conjunction with your regular moisturizing lotion that you use all over and them pump the Glow Lotion at specific places like collar bone / décolletage / shoulders / shins / arms / legs that you want to ‘sexify’.

What Works:

  • That nice, subtle, sexy glow
  • Quick absorption / no stickiness
  • Skin feels smoother
  • Luscious fruity-floral-musky fragrance
  • A little goes a long way
  • Cruelty free, Soap and Glory products are not tested on animals

What May Not Work:

  • Not a moisturizer – should be used over one

Rating: A

Price: Available online in India for INR 800

Will I repurchase? The bottle will last a long time, but I will definitely repurchase once over.

Recommendation: The Soap and Glory glow lotion ensures that when you show a little skin, you do it fabulously . While it may not be a must-have in your beauty arsenal, there are times when a girl wants to glow, right?
