Lakme Youth Infinity Skin Firming Serum Review

Guest Review By Lucky

The Lakme Youth Infinity Skin Firming Serum  is a recent addition to Lakme’s skin care range. They came up with the youth infinity range a few months back and this serum was all the rage . As most of you must have seen in their TVC this serum claims to restore the 20’s  sculpted look. I am 27, and have combination to oily skin. My skin is mostly problem free but I have visible large pores around my nose, so while browsing the net I found enlarged pores are also signs of aging. This was enough to ring bells for me. I was in a dilemma about where I should start from and then I saw this serum which is claiming to restore the 20’s  look, I felt this will be the best place to start my anti aging journey with !

My Views on Lakme Youth Infinity Skin Firming Serum:

Before this serum my night skin care regime consisted of  cleansing, toning and then a night cream (no anti ageing property) but now I have added this serum before the night cream. The serum is very light in texture and gets absorbed in skin like magic. There is a sculpting regime (2 upward strokes for neck, smile line, eye brows and cheeks each) suggested on the pack which I follow and by the end of it the serum is totally absorbed inside my skin leaving  smooth/matt skin behind. As suggested I use this serum in morning also, following with some foundation or BB cream and compact powder. As claimed it helps reducing  sebum production and my skin remains oil free for longer hours than before.

After using this serum from one month I feel it did succeeded in making my skin more glowing, radiant and hydrated as it claimed. It also worked moderately on some very fine lines on my forehead (it appears more smooth now) and the reduction of pore size was just after application which stayed for few hours, no lasting results here. Also on the reduction of blemish and dark spot part it did not perform very well.  But it has a promising ingredients list which cannot be ignored completely. It has retinol ( must have ingredient in anti aging creams), collagen booster (known to improve skin elasticity) and AHA. Its packaging is quite trendy, comes with pump dispenser which regulates product wastage. Serum has strong flowery fragrance but is not long lasting.

Pros of Lakme Youth Infinity Skin Firming Serum :

Makes skin smooth and matt.

Gets absorbed quickly.

Moisturizes skin, without making it oily.

Improves skin tone and gives glow to skin.

Works on fine lines (slow result but works).

Keeps skin oil free for sometimes.

Hygienic packaging, no product wastage.

Cons of Lakme Youth Infinity :

Takes time to show results.

No permanent improvement for pore size reduction.

Not effective on dark spots.

Rating: B+

Price: Rs 899 for 30 ml

Recommendation: To sum up, The Lakme Youth Infinity Serum worked in parts and did not fail completely; however all the tall claims were  did not met. It definitely results in smoother, oil free and glowing skin but it didnt help on dark spots or pore reduction. If you are in your mid twenties looking to start on a retinol based product, this is a nice option, but if you are looking for a stronger anti ageing product, this is not it.
