Neutral Eyeshadow Tutorial with Mac Expensive Pink

So I realized  some time back that makeup tutorials were not my thing. I just cannot get the camera to capture every step as i do it,  the colors don’t show up and most often iv already gone ahead 5 steps and then its a *whoops* moment and you cant erase and start over. But i found this makeup tutorial i had clicked some while back saved on my comp- didnt put it up because well of all the problems listed above. But since id rather post it than delete it, here you go !!!

Psst: I am working on trying to get some new, fresh tutorials for you as well. If you are someone who wants to share their makeup tutorials let me know and we can feature you! Also if you have specific requests of what other tutorials you want please drop a line!

You will need:

  • A Soft matte brown (Mac Folie)
  • A Peachy Gold (Mac Expensive Pink- my favourite Mac Eyeshadow of all time)
  • A Darker Brown (Im using a shadow from a Nyx Pallette)
  • A Bright Gold Shadow (Im using Woodwinked)
  • Black Liner

Step1: Prime your eyelids (Im using Urban Decay Primer Potion). I got this was an Urban Decay Pallette i bought from Paris on my honeymoon but i never use that pallette-just the potion!!!

Step 2: Following the shape of your eyebrow, take a small blending brush and put a soft matte brown eyeshadow in circular motions just below your crease area- i like to start round about where my brow dips. Take gentle circular motions downward to the edge of your eye.

Step 3: Take Mac Expensive Pink and start to pat it down on the center of the lid

Step 4: Continue with Mac Expensive Pink and go over the brown you did on the crease as well.

Step 5 &6: Take a bright gold eyeshadow and place it in the inner corner- joining it will Expensive Pink. Extend the gold halfway into the lower lash line

Step 7: Now take a darker brown, and intensify the crease

Step 8: Extend the darker brown on the lower lashline starting from the outer corner as well.

Step 9: Add Black Kohl Pencil and Mascara. Blend Harsh Edges

I love how it’s got just a hint of pink without going overboard!
Would love to see a tutorial on how to do a simple base that just evens out complexion. And not with those BB creams. Something that can be done without having to worry about a camera flash making it look white. I have a few events to attend and am clueless! :/

mehak August 14, 2013 at 11:55 am

Sure !!! Those BB Creams arent really camera friendly!

LittleBigHappyGirl August 14, 2013 at 12:36 pm

Awesome! Thanks!
And yes, they make you look like a ghost!

I would LOVE to participate!
And Expensive Pink is one of those colours I hardly ever use, I really think I should now!

This is a beautiful look! But that list of eye shadows turns me off (though there are just 4) :( Can you please do something similar but with far fewer shadows?! If that is even possible!

Can you also do a post on single eyeshadows that can brighten the eye area and make you look like you put in some effort? Like swipe X eyeshadow on the lid and eye liner, mascara and you are done!

mehak August 14, 2013 at 10:48 pm

Hi Supria- I recently did a single eyeshadow makeup look as well idd you see? There is another one coming up..i call it the single eyeshadow series…all looks using 1 or two eyeshadows

Supria August 15, 2013 at 12:33 am

Mehak, I did and that is one of my fav posts of yours ;) I have added bronze to my wish list! Looking forward to the series :D

P.S I am an eye-shadow challenged person!

Try woodwinked from MAC. Just pat it on the lid, blend out the edges and add some mascara! Because it has orange-brown undertones, it blends out and looks like you’ve added a crease colour etc. When all you’ve used is one colour.
It’s really beautiful!

This is such a pretty wearable look.. Totally love it. I generally make a mess when I use more than one colour. But you have explained in such an easy way that I’d love to try it out..
I guess people would love your tutorials.. Keep them coming..

Have been scouting about for a eyeshadow tutorial for indian skin tones; had no idea where to start with regards to colours – this is great! So understated yet chic. Can’t wait to try it out! Thanks!
