Nyx Powder Blush In Espresso (5) Nyx Powder Blush In Espresso: Swatches & Review

Guest Review By Priya R (Light Skin Tone, Combination Skin)

I have not really been a blush girl in the past but off late I started experimenting with the blushes from different brands. Nyx has quickly become my favourite brand when it comes to blushes. There are blushes in different finishes, textures and good number of shades to choose from and one such blush is Espresso.

Product Description: Our pressed powder blush delivers sheer, silky color that glides on, blends beautifully and creates a natural glow. The formula is richly-pigmented and lasts for hours.

My Views

Like I said, being  new to wearing blushes, bright pinks , oranges & reds scare me a little bit. You can easily go overboard with the colors making you look like a clown. Nyx blush Espresso seemed like a safe bet to me, as the shade is very wearable. As the name suggests, Espresso isn’t a dark coffee color shade but instead it is a pretty peachy-pink with subtle amount of brown n it – its almost a salmon colored blush which is really unique. I believe it will suit most skin tones, especially on light-medium skin tone girls. It gives a healthy looking finish to the skin & looks very natural- just adding a bit of warmth and depth to your face so its perfect for everyday wear.

Of all the drugstore brand blushes I have tried so far, Nyx has by far the best formula I have worked with & Espresso is no exception. Espresso is silky in texture, easily blendable, much pigmented & looks soft on the skin. Espresso has a matte finish & completely shimmer free. I easily get a wear time of about 6-7 hours from it. Only issue I face with Espresso is that it crumbles a little bit in the pan due to the softness of the powder.

I love its compact & transparent lid packaging, makes it easy to find a shade if you have few of these in stash. Not only it is a good packaging, it is also very sturdy and won’t break off easily.

Sometimes it gets really difficult to get hold of these blushes in India, even online these blushes are always out of stock. And even if you can lay your hands on them you can never be sure if these are being sold with the change of labels & date of expiry. Abroad these blushes are available at cheaper price compared to India and there is some surety that expired products are not sold.

Pros:

  1. Highly pigmented

  3. Lasts for longer hours – about 6-7 hours
  4. Available in different finishes – matte, shimmer, satin
  5. Soft & silky texture
  6. Espresso will suit most skin tones

Cons:

  1. A little powdery & crumbles a bit in the pan
  2. Availability in India is an issue
  3. Expensive in India as compared to the price these are sold abroad

Rating: A-

Price: Rs. 650

Recommendation: Nyx Powder Blush Espresso is wearable peachy-pink brown shade which will suit most skin tones. Espresso has satin matte finish and it gives healthy natural flush to the skin. Silky texture & long lasting hours makes it perfect for office wear. Though availability can be issue in India, but still it is worth trying!

I’m about to try this one too! As this has been recommended by my friend. I love blushes the only thing I’m worried about is my oily skin. It might not last though..

Looks a bit powdery in the pan, but not so much when swatched. Nice review :)
