Rajvi, tell us about your shopping experience!
My mother accompanied me on all of my shopping trips in search of the perfect outfit. It wasn’t very difficult for me to decide as I has pre-decided the choice of designer, the silhouette I was looking for & the colours I wanted to wear for each function
My Engagement/sangeet outfit was from Anand Kabra, Hyderabad- I personally met with Anand at his studio in Hyd and decided on the final outfit. Anand personalised the outfit for me, it was a little different from the original design he showcased at Fashion Week
Mehndi- I wore a purple, coral gown designed by Meher & Riddhima- designer duo based out of Dubai, having established their label 11 years ago. Riddhima being my cousin did personalise the colour and their signature macrame motifs for me, without any hesitation. I laid eyes on this gown, in another colour, at their factory in Dubai & decided immediately to have it as my Mehndi outift! (website-http://www.
For my Wedding – Niddhi Tholia/ Saffron from Jaipur. I first saw Nidhi’s beautiful garments at Ogaan in Delhi, while on my trip to the capital for indian clothes trousseau shopping. However, at that time her bridal collection had not hit the racks in Ogaan. It was an instant decision to drive down to Jaipur the next morning for a day and visit Nidhi’s store to decide and place an order for my Wedding lehenga.
Reception- Sabyasachi, from his store at Kala Ghoda, Mumbai. I had worn Sabyasachi for my roka back in April. I have always loved his work throughout the years & had decided well in advance that Sabyasachi would be the designer I wanted to wear for my Reception. When I met him, he was a pleasure to talk to & after much convincing he agreed to change the colour of his original design to the colour of my choice- royal blue and red.
Where did you purchase your jewellery from?
Most of my jewellery was made by one of our family jeweler, Tolaram Devnani, who also happens to be a relative.

We didn’t have any performances on the Engagement/ Sangeet but it was great fun anyway
Function- Mehndi was the function which was by far the best as it was very relaxed with 100 of my close family & friends. Not to mention, I was in a very comfortable & fuss-free outfit! I had applied mehndi to my legs the previous day & only application of mehndi to my hands was done at Le Mangii, the venue.
The vibe of the venue was very different as compared to a traditional mendhi ceremony, with sangria & Italian food doing the rounds. It was a very relaxed affair. There was far more scope of interaction with the guests and more so my friends & cousins, than any other function.
You look absolutely gorgeous. Who did the makeup?
Priya Todarwal did the hair & make up for all functions except Mehndi.
Mehndi make up & hair was done by Piyu Palkar.
Who was your photographer ? A few lines of recommendation about them !
I had two sets of photographer. One candid & one flash. Needless to say Wedding Salad, the candid photographers did a fabulous job. I had booked them literally two weeks prior to my wedding at the recommendation of a close friend (who also booked them later for her wedding in Feb). Kanishka & Aayushi were a pleasure to deal with and the final outcome was superb, I couldn’t have been happier.
