Guest Review By Priya R

Product Description: Stay right on trend from your tips to your toes with new Maybelline Color Show. Our gel based formula with color popping pigments, comes in 40 bold, super stylish shades that look great on nails. So go on, mix, match and make the most of color.

My Views:

So, I couldn’t stop myself after trying 2 of Maybelline Colorshow Nail Polishes (Orange Fix and Wine & Dine), these are really addictive! During my last trip to the mall, I couldn’t resist  picking up 2 more nail polishes from Color Show Range – Velvet Wine & Tenacious Teal.

Velvet Wine is a gorgeous sorbet pink color, more like “rani pink”. It has pink & silver shimmer  which makes the finish somewhat gritty. It applies smoothly & the first coat goes somewhat sheer but with the second coat it goes completely opaque. The formula was a little runny but easily manageable. I don’t know how I missed picking up this beautiful pink last time but I am glad I have it now.

Tenacious Teal is another different & nice shade from the collection, it a jade teal/green color. I usually do not like to wear greens on my nails but Tenacious Teal is an exception, love its creamy & glossy finish. This one too had a slightly running formula but easily manageable. And again, with two coats I got opaque coverage.

I got a weartime of about 4 days with both the colors, after that it started wearing off the tips. I think being budget nail polishes 4 days of wear time is good. The glossiness maintained throughout the weartime and it  looked creamy throughout. Drying time between 2 coats wasn’t long either. The quantity is definitely less compared to other nail polishes from brands.

Pros:

  1. 40 shades to choose from!
  2. Very affordable
  3. Excellent formula – claims to be gel styled formula
  4. Quick drying formula
  5. High glossy finish
  6. Can easily wear for abot 4 days

Cons:

1. 6ml quantity is less than the regular ones which comes in 8ml size

Rating: A

Price: Rs. 75 each

Recommendation: Velvet Wine is a pretty “rani pink” shade & Tenacious Teal is a unique jade green in my collection. Formula is great & these nail polishes dry real quick too. Maybelline Colorshow Nail Polishes are available in 40 shades & are totally drool worthy! I am eyeing Bold Gold, a pastel lavender & a metallic bronze shade next :)

Both the shades are gorgeous :) With these prices, Maybelline is officially now a drugstore brand in India too!
