Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio In Knock On Wood: Swatches & Review
Guest Review By Khushboo
Wet n Wild eye shadows have always been my favorite because of the affordable price tag, quality, pigmentation, color coordination, staying power etc. But’ it’s hard to find products from this brand so I usually ask my sister living in US top bring me some products every now and then. The palette I’m going to review today is Wet n Wild Knock on wood Trio which has three beautiful shades which have become my absolute favourites!
What the wet n wild knock on wood trio claims?
“Coordinating trio shades takes the guesswork out of creating the perfect eye look. The “how to” palettes are created to highlight, define, and accentuate specific eye colors to create unique looks.”
My Experience With Wet n Wild Knock On Wood Trio Eyeshadow:
The Wet n Wild Knock on wood Eyeshadow Trio is packaged in a simple black case with a transparent cover on top. It has three shades demarcated with “brow-bone”, “crease” and “eyelid” imprinted on them which make it easy for beginners to learn but obviously it’s not necessary to use the shades like this only. I hardly ever do and use the brow bone shade as an eye lid shade and the eye lid one as crease shade :D. The trio palette also comes with one sponge and brush applicator but as usually they are *good for nothing*. Anyways, let me tell you more about the palette:
Brow-Bone Shade: The first shade is a pretty pink shade which is decently pigmented and is not chalky at all. The shade is supposed to be “brow-bone shade” but I am definitely not going to wear a pink eye shadow on my brow-bone, please. The fall out is minimal and the shimmers in it do not look over-the-top. I usually use this shade on my crease as it is light and perfect for daily wear.
Crease shade: Natural Deep brown shade which is perfect for crease and “crease” is also imprinted on it as you can see in the images, which is nice for beginners like me. I usually layer it on top of my matte browns to get brown Smokey eyes and it looks really nice this way. It’s a great color which will look during night but if you’re comfortable in day also then you can obviously rock it.
Eyelid Shade: The last is “deep burgundy shade” and it has imprinted eyelid on it though I feel that the shade is dark for day but it will look good for evening-parties. This particular shade has the best texture and pigmentation amongst all three. The shimmers are subtle and the texture is smooth which glides easily on eye lids.
The texture of the shades is very smooth and it glides smoothly with minimal or no fall out. Even after 3 hours, it doesn’t crease at all. All the three shades have shimmers but they are not chunky and look very subtle, it’s great for evening gatherings. The Wet n Wild Knock on wood Eyeshadow Trio comes with a useless sponge applicator and a useless brush. I don’t know why companies even include such useless items; I would prefer a smaller packaging instead of the brushes occupying space. Now coming to the staying power, without primer the shades stay for 3 hours (maximum 3.5 hours) but with applied over primer the shades stay for good 7-8 hours which is really amazing at such an affordable price.
- Easy on pocket
- The shades have subtle shimmer with a frosty finish
- Colors are nicely pigmented
- Good for beginners
- Pretty shades and color coordination
- Texture is smooth
- Minimal fall-out
- Stays for 3 hours without primer and 8 hours with primer
- Doesn’t crease
- Useless brushes
Recommendation: If you like the shades then go for these Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trio’s as they are decently pigmented and stay for long that too without a primer. The fall out is minimal and the texture is buttery smooth which glides effortlessly on eyes. The palette is great for beginners like me who are learning the art of makeup.
