Benefit Big Time Prime Kit Review

There are some things in life, which no matter how sullen or depressed you are- instantly perk you up ! I can think of hot chocolate fudge by Nirulas as one of them and i have to say another one is Confetti. I mean, how can you possibly have your lips turned downwards when you see springy, hot pink strings everywhere !!! I think that’s what Benefit was thinking of when they packed the Big Time Prime kit- the minute you open it, you cant help but grin at the cutesy stringy inside. Who cares what the kit has anyway? Confetti come to mama !!!

But incase your inner child is more grown up than mine (my inner child is still 3 by the way), you will probably notice two tiny tubes of Benefits products amongst that confetti- one if the Pore-Fessional Primer (you have got to love Benefits names) and the other is the ‘that gal’primer. While Pore-fessional aims to close open pores and give your face a smoother , primed look before applying foundation….the That Gal primer is a brightening primer that is supposed to add a glow before your foundation goes on.

Benefit Pore-Fessional

Benefit That Gal

Sounds like  a superhero , dullness fighting duo that a mystery novel could be written on? Almost . Except i didn’t really get the big deal about this kit. The Porefessional has this silky texture to it, which kind of dries powdery the minute you spread it on your face. It definitely makes my skin super smooth and i guess my foundation does go on smoother, but i didnt see a huge marked difference. The That Gal primer is like a soft pink, pearly liquid that does add some amount of glow and shine to the face, but i much rather use a highlighter on top of my foundation to achieve that. Overall, the kit does work, but the results are not mind blowing and i honestly didnt see a big difference with/without using this. Having said that, i dont have an open pores problem so probably thats the reason i didnt love this.

  • Foundation goes on smoother with the Beneft Pore fessional
  • Pores get a softer, more diffused look
  • Makes my skin feel silky ans soft

  • I dont see a marked difference when i use the ‘That Gal’ primer- it really doesnt add as much of a glow as i would like
  • Primers are meant for oil control and i dont think this really does that or makes Foundation lasts longer

1. Bare face, no makeup

2. After Applying Pore fessional to cover up open pores

3. After Applying the That Gal Brightening Primer

4. After Applying Foundation (one shade too light) and concealer

5. Applying liner, Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush and Mac Mineralize Lipstick

Verdict: B

Price: I got this sample size version for 12$ so 720 Rs

Recommendation: The Benefit Big Time Prime Kit consists of a Porefessional Primer (for a smoother look to your skin), and a ‘That Gal’Primer (for a glow to your skin) , both of which are to be used before applying a foundation. While my skin does feel smoother, and there is a slight glow, i didnt see a marked difference when i dont use this. I would rather use a highlighter on top anyway, and i dont have that much of an open pores problem!

I thought it would deliver marked difference, but it doesn’t !! You have a beautiful healthy skin :)

I had a sample of porefessional. I did not like the silicone-y feeling. I have been wanting to try the that gal primer. Looks like it might be a similar case of mac strobe cream which I found did nothing on me either.

I don’t use primers that often anyway but I want to try their highlighters!

It makes a very subtle difference…I always thought that this would perform some magic though :D
Is the Lakme Earth Rose Trio blush still available at the counters Mehak? I cannot find it anywhere :(

U have beautiful skin Mehak :) I have the sample size that gal primer and it just gives a glow and doesn’t really do what a primer is supposed to do! Still looking out for the perfect priner!

I tried a sample once and thought it was just okay. I like DHC Velvet Skin Coat much better.
