Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick In Captive: Swatches & Review
Guest Review By Shagufta
Its always exciting when your family member comes back from Dubai and opens their suitcase full of goodies for you ! So when my sister in law told me she had picked up two Chanel lipsticks for me on her trip there , I was jumping with joy ! These are my very first Chanel lipsticks and this one is called ‘Captive’
About the product and packaging : This lipstick comes in a complete classy black case with the shade number and name written on one end and with a golden click pen type opening on the other end with the chanel logo on it. You have to press the golden end and it pops out just like you would click open a ball-point pen. The packaging makes it very travel friendly as the lippy is all secure and tight with the click-pen type of opening.
My Experience with Chanel Rouge Allure Captive:
The shade is Captive and the shade number is 76.The product inside is a brownish red colored lipstick with very fine or almost unnoticeable golden shimmer. The shade might come through as very sheer but the color can be built up according to one’s own liking. Think of this more like a soft, lighter brick color- its a beautiful color for indian skin tones in my opinion.
The texture of the lipstick is super smooth, not so creamy or moisturizing but yet gives very satin-y kind of feel on the lips, not so pigmented but then it can definitely be worked with in both ways, sheer or pigmented. Once applied, the lipstick tends to comfortably settle down on to your lips with a semi matte finish and has an amazing staying power, does not feather and does not transfer easily too.
But the one and only thing that bothers me about this lippy is it might not really compliment a lot of deeper skintones and it makes pigmented lips like mine as well look a bit older. I would recommend this shade to lighter skinned beauties. It would definitely compliment their skin tone better.
PROS of Chanel Rouge Allure Captive:
1. Great satin texture, shimmer is not very bothering.
2. Long staying power
3. Does not crease or feather
4. Does not transfer easily
5. No over powering fragrance
6. Classy and travel friendly packaging
7. Build-able color
CONS of Chanel Rouge Allure Captive:
1.Does not compliment darker skin tones
2.Not for pigmented lips
3.Could have been a bit more moisturizing.
Rating : B+
Price : INR 1800 app. (Please correct me)
Recommendation: The Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Captive is a great color for medium and lighter skintones- a beautiful earthy brick shade. These lipsticks have a beautiful feel and texture, they glide smoothly and have amazing lasting power but girls with pigmented lips might not enjoy them as much and i feel they could have been more moisturizing.
