I’m a fan of Nivea lip balms (their Fruity Shine Pink Guava is an all-time favourite!), so I didn’t hesitate at all before picking up their newly launched lip butter in Caramel Cream
The lip butter comes in a cute flat and wide tin. I love the colour of the packaging and those yummy caramel toffees on the lid. Most people may not like tin packaging because of hygiene issues, but I use potted lip balms only at night after washing my hands so I don’t mind much.
The tin houses 16.7 grams of product which is a LOT to finish up in 12 months. I’ll probably use this up as a nail and cuticle butter too! The lip butter itself has a slightly hard consistency, but not so hard that you’d have to dig into it to get the product out. It melts on contact with the skin and feels very very light when applied, unlike thicker lip butters that just sit heavy on the lips. It is non-greasy and does quite a good job of moisturising.
The Nivea Caramel Cream butter has a sweet kind of fragrance with a touch of caramel scent…it smells something like fresh cookies dusted with a whole lot of sugar! I expected the smell to be more warm and buttery and didn’t find it as appealing as I thought I would, but it is a lovely smell nevertheless. The fragrance doesn’t last long after application. In the tin, the lip butter has a pale cream colour but swatches completely clear, unless you apply it heavily, and then it gives an unflattering, slightly whitish colour to the lips.
- Light, non-greasy texture
- Hydrates lips well
- Yummy fragrance
- Works under lipsticks because of the texture and the colourlessness
- You get a lot of product in that tiny tin
- Tin packaging – unhygienic
Price: INR 189, which may seem a wee bit expensive to some, but you get 16.7 grams of product.
Where to Buy: Buy this super yummy lip butter at Nykaa.com with cash on delivery options available!
Recommendation: Overall, I do like this Nivea lip butter in Caramel Cream and recommend it to everyone. The fragrance reminds me of Christmas and sugar cookies and it does a pretty good job of moisturising. I’m thinking of picking up the other variant (Raspberry Rosé) as well!
