Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara

So, the deal is..i think 3D Movie makers are very unkind to people like me who wear glasses. You see, its great that all these movies are coming out in 3D with all their super effects and all, but spare a thought for someone who has to wear glasses to a movie hall, and then has to wear 3D glasses on top of those glasses ! Oh. My. God. Can you imagine a first date, with you peeping through two sets of glasses and popcorn falling all over you and smiling romantically at your date ???  Ugh- its like you look like a robot or something. Its just so annoying- my nose starts hurting with the weight of two glasses, i look like an idiot and the frames of the two aren’t always equal so there are all sorts of logistical issues. Sigh. Give me a regular movie anyday! However, when a mascara claims to be 3D , its definitely worth a shot !! (Im just hoping it doesnt turn my lashes into scary 3d spiders)

If you have skinny lashes, then the Revlon Photoready 3D Volume is like chocolate on a strict diet. Its going to fatten em up and give them a whole lot of volume! It doesn’t necessarily add to length, but then with two coats it really does go va-va-voom on your lashes in terms of volume. I also really like the brush- its nice and chubby with short bristles so you really seperate your lashes and coat them evenly.

However, you need to be quick quick with this mascara. Its dries quickly, and if you aren’t like speedracer between two coats you can get spidery lashes. I do love that it doesnt leave my lashes crunchy, but keeps them soft and natural looking, without being ultra heavy or weighing them down. I dont think you should do more than 2 coats on this- with 3 i think it becomes a little strange and clumpy. But definitely worth a shot according to me!

Pros of Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara:

  • Gives great Volume
  • Seperates lashes because of the great brush
  • Looks natural and doesn’t weigh down the lashes
  • Does not clump and doesnt make lashes crunchy

  • Does not add much length.
  • Dries quickly so you have to be very quick between coats. Also too many coats can ruin this look

One coat of Mascara

Verdict: B+

Price: Rs 550/- (Please correct me)

Recommendation: The Revlon Photoready 3D Volume mascara is a really nice mascara if you are looking for volume. It doesn’t add much in the length department, but it does seperate, volumise and darken for a voluminous yet still natural look without weighing down . Dont overdo this though (no more than 2 coats) , because then it can make your lashes look clumpy.

I hate the general 3d movie trend too, except really good ones like Gravity and Prometheus.

The effect is very subtle. nothing really 3D about it!

Can you not watch 3D movies with your contact lens and 3D glasses?!

Looks like a good mascara to try out! I currently use L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes mascara, which I’m quite happy with, but am now looking to try something new.
