The Body Shop Strawberry Puree Review (1) The Body Shop Strawberry Puree Review

Guest Review By Adi

I love how most TBS products have ‘unfit for consumption’ written on them. They do smell good enough to eat, and there have been countless times when I have been tempted to disregard that warning!! :P as far as the Strawberry Puree goes, they should write that line in huge bold letters. I think you all must’ve guessed that I am crazy about this product! If you want to know why, read on :)

My take on the product:

The packaging is in the form of a transparent plastic bottle with a pump mechanism. I’m all for this, except that some product tends to get stuck in the pipe and nozzle, and so gets wasted.

The transparent packaging allows the lovely light pink colour of the puree to come through, which I love! The moisturizer has a consistency in-between that of lotion and cream. It spreads very easily and initially it feels a bit ‘wet’ on the skin, like lotion. But that settles almost immediately. It is very light on the skin and it’s absorbed instantly, which makes it a perfect moisturizer for the summer months. For winter, not so much – you’ll probably need something heavier like cold cream or something.

Of course, it’s a given that the fragrance is beyond amazing. It’s so fruity, and not in a nauseating way – it’s just right! No offense, but you know the Vaseline Cocoa butter moisturizer (or something like that, I don’t remember exactly what it’s called), I find the scent too sweet – like it’s a bit overwhelming. The fragrance of the puree is more subtle, but it’s noticeable and it stays for atleast 2-3 hours, which I love!!

It has surely become my HG moisturizer and oh how I love the fragrance! I really, REALLY recommend this when your skin needs a light dose of moisture. Before sleeping, however, I tend to use a heavier moisturizer like the Garnier Body Cocoon because I have very dry skin in winters and the puree doesn’t provide enough moisture, my skin still looks dry after applying it.

What’s to love?

  1. AMAZING fragrance
  2. Provides a decent level of moisturization to the skin
  3. Does not feel heavy or greasy on the skin
  4. Cute packaging
  5. A little goes a long way, so one bottle will last you quite a while!
  6. Cruelty free

What’s to hate?

  1. Expensive :(
  2. Some product gets stuck in the pump and so gets wasted
  3. Definitely not moisturizing enough for winters

Rating: B

Price: Rs 595

Final recommendation: There’s a reason why this baby never goes on sale (10% is hardly any discount TBS, do you guys hear me?!), even though it falls short in the moisturizing department, I would repurchase it solely for its heavenly fragrance. If strawberry is not your fave, try out the other variants, they’re equally yummy and you’re sure to find something that floats your boat :)

I always LOVE the lotions from bodyshop. Especially their fragrance. I like them more than their butter sometimes.

This is the perfect summer moisturiser! It doesn’t leave any greasy feeling at all, and the smell! It’s definitely not overpowering, and leaves a sweet scent on you for hours!
