Iraya Green Apple Lip Balm Review
Guest Review By Adi
I don’t know why but I had never tried out Iraya products before despite hearing such rave reviews for some of them. I decided to debut with one of their lip balms – the green apple lip balm! The winter has been so unforgiving on my skin – even more so on my lips so I wanted to try out this lip balm because I hoped that it would give my chapped lips an extra dose of hydration. Read on to see if it did :)
Description of the Product: blend of fresh, tangy green apples with nourishing natural oils & butters. Ideal for protecting lips from dryness or getting chapped. Tested for allergy. 100% vegetarian. Never tested on animals.
My take on the Product:
The lip balm comes in a cute tub packaging. Yes TUB :( but anyhow, for now I don’t have to really dig my fingers into the tub to scoop out the balm – since I just bought it, but yeah I ‘foresee’ a problem here. The tub is made of glass which makes it a bit heavy.
Anyway, the fragrance of the lip balm is purely that of fresh green apples, which really uplifts my mood –it smells so refreshing and tangy! The lip balm’s consistency is a lot like Vaseline – that is the beeswax I’m guessing. However it does not feel waxy or heavy on the lips – unless you apply a lot of it. And yes don’t worry – the balm is colourless on application though it looks light green in the tub.
One main issue I have with this lip balm is the taste – it’s really weird. So I have to make sure that I apply this at night – or when I won’t eat anything for a while, so that it doesn’t go into my mouth. And now if that isn’t annoying tell me what is?!
What’s to love?
- Does not feel heavy or waxy on the lips
- Heavenly fragrance
- Very reasonably priced given the quantity (20 g)
- Hydrates lips to quite an extent, heals chapped lips
- Colourless so can be applied below lipsticks, lip glosses etc.
- Cruelty free
What’s to hate?
- Tub packaging can be annoying to use
- Weird taste :/
Price: Rs 245
Recommendation: Sadly I don’t think this lip balm is special. It hydrates and heals my chapped lips but does nothing that my HG Avon lip balm does not do (at one-third the cost). I wouldn’t repurchase this.
