Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Blue (3) Lakme Eyeconic Kajal In Blue: Swatches & Review

I love hoarding color eye pencils a lot – but recently I had completely stopped using them not realizing why – on my eyes everyday was the Lakme Eyeconic Black. One day a  friend asked why I don’t wear my colored liners any more when I realised it is all due to my absolute crazy love for the eyeconic black . I haven’t ever found an eye kohl which didn’t smudge or budge on my oily lids or my waterline. I mentioned to her – If Lakme came up with colored pencils in the same quality – I would buy them in a heartbeat – and maybe that will make me reinvent my love for colored eye liners. So the day I saw the eyeconic white post and heard about them launching 4 other colors I went to the store to get them. I was going to buy all of them except white – but I thought I will try out one before I bought the rest. So, I bought the Lakme Eyeconic kohl in Blue.

Product Claims:

  • 10 hr No Smudge
  • Waterproof
  • Dermatologically Tested

It is not as great as the Eyeconic black – the texture is the same but pigmentation wise it could have been bluer. I need to layer it on my eyes 2-3 times to get good color payoff. Also it looks almost black from the distance. It definitely smudges (refer pic where I have rubbed it with my fingers) – it vanishes from my waterline in 4-5 hours and lightens from my lids quite a bit time.

Pros:

  1. Reasonable Price
  2. Nice texture – can be layered on without puling or tugging lids

Cons:

  1. Doesn’t stay 10 hours – definitely fades in half the time
  2. Color payoff isn’t as good as I would like, requires layering which however makes it look more black on my lids.
  3. The color itself is not too appealing- i would have wanted a mre vibrant blue!

Rating: B

Price: 250 INR

Will I repurchase? I don’t think this color but I might get the other colors just to try.

Overall recommendation: Lakme Eyeconic Blue is a far cousin of the LAkme Eyeconic Black. Though similar in packaging & texture, it doesn’t stay put like the black for hours. Also, I would definitely have wanted a better looking blue color.

The colour looks less like blue and more like gray!

The lighting makes it look a little more dull – it is little more intense than the pic

the swatch does not look very intense in color. :(

Blue doesn’t look much good from all the colors range in Lakme but I’ve ordered all the colors will have to bear this one too.
