TBS Extra Virgin Minerals Foundation Brush Review

Product Description:

A high density, supersoft brush for use with Extra Virgin Minerals™ Powder Foundation
• Super-soft synthetic hair
• Cruelty-free
• For use with Extra Virgin Mineral™ Powder foundation.
• Gives an even, flawless finish

My love with kabuki brushes began with the Bourjois Kabuki Brush and I have never looked back at powder puffs, my current MAC’s compact puff remains absolutely untouched. According to me, these powder puffs get dirty quickly, lead to bacteria build up with frequent usage (face it who really washes a puff!) and finally causes break outs on your skin. Even if you wash it, the puff looses it texture & puffiness, basically it is not really the same as new. This Small sized Kabuki brush has really made my life simple. After using the Bourjois one for over a year, I felt the need to upgrade. To my knowledge, only MAC, Inglot & Body Shop offers rounded fluffy kabuki brushes, I chose the Body Shop one!

TBS does not call this fluffy thing “Kabuki” but gave it a fancy name “Extra Virgin Minerals Foundation Brush” – sounds exotic! This is a super soft brush, bristles feels really cushiony and velvety on the skin (almost like a soft toy touching your skin). Dual colored bristles are well sculpted together and are densely packed. It picks up just the right amount of pressed powder and applies evenly – without leaving patches of excess powder anywhere. A swirl into the compact and then a swirl on the face is all it takes to give even finish. Being a synthetic brush, it does not shed even a single bristle even after several washes – top notch quality. But it does take about a day’s time to completely dry after washing, so I wash it on weekly basis only. It is compact and fits into the palm & purse easily.

Pros:

  1. Oh-so soft bristles. Love how it feels against my skin.
  2. Perfectly sculpted shape which fits easily into palm. Also, does not take lot of room if you touch up every few hours.
  3. Made of synthetic hair – no animal cruelty.
  4. Very densely packed. Picks up just the right amount of powder.
  5. Gives even application & finish.
  6. Does not shed on washing.

Cons:

  1. It takes upto an entire day to dry after washing.

Rating: A

Price: Rs. 1495

Recommendation: Ever since, I have started using Kabuki brushes, I have definitely bid goodbye to powder puffs. Extra Virgin Minerals Foundation Brush is the first brush I ever tried from The Body Shop and I am not disappointed. The quality is excellent and worth investing in. Do checkout the brush in the ongoing TBS Sale, they are offering 50% discount!!!

This one seems really nice. My fav ones are from Burberry, MAc and HAkuhodo :-) I know what you mean when you say no more sponge/puff!
