Lakme Absolute Concealer In Medium to Dark Review (2) Lakme Absolute Concealer In Medium to Dark Review

I don’t have major dark circles (thankfully) because I sleep a lot and my friends even call me lady kumbkaran. But sometimes I do see light dark circles under my eyes and I also have light blemishes on my right cheeks. I don’t buy foundations but I do like stocking up concealer’s. I still haven’t found my HG concealer and thus I keep experimenting. I’m currently using Lakme Absolute Concealer and today I will be reviewing it for you all.

Product Description: This ultra-light concealer is an effortless approach to hide dark circles, blemishes and signs of fatigue. Vitamin B3 & SPF 20 keeps your look fresh and its ultra light formula allows the skin to breathe naturally.

  • Vitamin B3
  • SPF 20
  • Ultra Light

Shade: Medium to dark

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Concealer-Medium to Dark:

Lakme Absolute Concealer comes in screw up lipstick packaging which is easy-to-use and carry. The packaging is convenient and you can simple carry it in your handbag for touch-ups. The fuss-free and intelligent packaging is a hit for me. It’s fragrance free which is good as I also use it on my lips. I am not at all impressed with the shade selection as there are only two shades available and I bought the medium-dark one. Luckily, the shade is close to my skin tone and looks natural but not everyone will find the shade. At this price I think Lakme should have introduced more shades.

The texture is thick creamy and it blends well. It might look ashy or powdery if over-used but since I don’t have prominent dark circle it looks fine on me. The coverage it gives is medium and will cover spots/ marks to a great extent. If you have super dark circles then you will be disappointed as I don’t think it will cover them. But for me it does a pretty good job. It blends easily in 3-4 minutes and after blending it instantly brightens my under eye area. After application it gives matte finish. The staying power is decent and it stays for good 3-4 hours.

I also use it as lip-concealer and it works very nicely like this too. It hides my lip pigmentation and the color of my lipsticks looks more intense. It also makes my lipstick last longer, in shorts acts great as a lip base too.

Overall, I think it’s an above average concealer and I’m quite satisfied with it.

Pros:

  • Handy, fuss-free and easy- to-use packaging
  • You can carry this stick while travelling
  • The shade suits my skin tone
  • Smooth texture
  • Blends easily without looking patchy
  • Brightens under eye area instantly
  • Covers dark circles and blemishes nicely
  • SPF 20
  • Stays for 3 to 4 hours
  • Gives matte finish
  • Can be used on lips too

Cons:

  • Only two shades are available
  • Not for those with super dark circles
  • Can look powdery if over-applied

Rating: B+

Price: Rs. 450

Recommendation: Lakme Absolute Concealer is available in two shades and gives you medium coverage. It will hide dark circles and light blemishes but don’t expect it to work on heavy dark circles. The stick packaging is convenient and once applied it stays for good 4 hours. If you find matching shade then it’s indeed a good concealer.

Just 2 shades?? Lakme really needs to up their game rather than focusing on increasing their prices day by day!

Lakme always has this issue with limited shades….well so far, I am happy with my Kryolan Derma camouflage concealer!

Ahhhh kryolan, it’s too hard to find stuff from this brand :(

They should have more shade range..especially for Indian skin. Also, I found that he gets too dry for me.

Neha February 19, 2014 at 7:42 pm

Really? I have not faced the dryness yet… Thankfully :P :P
