Clarins Instant Smooth Foundation in Golden Beige Review
Applying foundation everyday is not my scene, but come a wedding or a dinner invitation and this is the first thing I think of ! I have always heard good reviews about Clarins and Mac foundations so I was confused about which one to get. But I ended up purchasing the clarins instant smooth foundation in the shade golden beige which matched my skin tone completely. There are only 6-7 shades available and it’s tough to find right shade for every skin tone. Luckily I found mine. Let’s move to the review.
Product Description: Experience the magic of this skin-perfecting, mousse-like foundation that seamlessly glides onto the skin for a flawlessly smooth, “air-brushed” complexion. Line-minimizing Acacia Micro Pearls hydrate skin, trapping moisture to fill fine lines and enlarged pores, while Soft Focus Pigments optically minimize imperfections, giving skin velvety-smooth and healthy-looking radiance.
My Experience with Clarins Instant Smooth Mousse Foundation:
The texture is heavy and smooth which glides effortlessly on my face just as easily with your fingers as with your foundation brush. It just blends seamlessly into your skin and gives a semi-matte finish. Because the formula is light , it doesn’t feel heavy after application. The foundation is medium coverage, non drying and can be layered for a heavier, more polished look. The finish it gives to skin after blending is neither too dewy not completely matte, it’s semi-matte and I love the finish it gives.
I don’t have major dark circles and after using this foundation, I don’t feel the need to use concealer. It looks completely natural and stays for 6-7 hours without using a primer beneath. Not just that, it looks fresh even towards the end of the day and you don’t feel the need to touch-up. It doesn’t look patchy and also reduces appearance of large pores.
The clarins foundation contains loads of chemicals like silicones but I have not experienced any kind of breakout till now. If you’re allergic to silicone then skip it but I personally don’t have a issue with it.
Clarins Instant Smooth foundation comes in heavy glass jar which has a golden cap on top. The jar is heavy and sturdy so even if it gets dropped I don’t think it will break. The packaging is travel friendly and it looks classy too. The foundation comes with a spatula so that you can scoop out the desired product but I lost my spatula and now I use my sanitized fingers to take out the product. You can see in the images also that the product looks dirty due to my fingerprints. :P
Summing up the pros and cons:
- Smooth texture that blends effortlessly
- Covers scars and dark circles and gives good, medium coverage that can be built to high
- Looks natural
- Gives semi-matte finish
- Doesn’t look cakey or patchy
- Photographs well
- A tiny amount is all you need for entire face
- Stays for 7-8 hours without primer
- The tub packaging is unhygienic and looks dirty too
- Might not suit very dry skintones
- Contains silicone
- No SPF
Price: Rs 1800 for 30 ml
Recommendation: Clarins Instant Smooth Mousse Foundation has a thick whipped cream like texture and it blends effortlessly giving a very natural look. The coverage is medium but you can build it accordingly as it doesn’t look cakey even after layering. It gives semi-matte finish and will suit all skin types. The price is higher but worth the quality you’re getting.
