Revlon Highlighting Palette Bronze Glow (3)Revlon Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow Review

Revlon Highlighting Palettes are the new kids on the block and boy, aren’t they creating quite a buzz?

What Revlon says:

  • All over sun kissed glow
  • Complimentary shimmer shades blend to enhance the complexion for a radiant sun kissed look.
  • Easy to blend, buildable color gives a multi-dimensional sculpted look.

They come in three shades: Rose Glow, Bronze Glow and Peach Glow.

These babies are getting really popular and I think it’s mainly because they look an awful lot like the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks which have a cult like following. The Bobbi Brown Brick cost a bomb compared to this palette. I haven’t used the Bobbi Brown one, so pardon me for not commenting on their dupe factor.

Bronze Glow has five strips of colours – one of them a stark white highlighter and the rest are various shades of copper. I tried swatching them individually but it was almost impossible to get their true colours to show and I gave up.  I am somewhere around NC42 skin tone and I must say I was pleasantly surprised to find that this product suits me so much! These can be used in a multitude of ways, namely, as a highlighter, a subtle bronzer, as eyeshadows and shimmery contour too.  I swipe it across the hollow of my cheeks sometimes and the effect was so subtle but so gorgeous that two of my friends bought it the same day!

I was afraid that the product might be too shimmery for my taste (it does look so in the pan) but it worked perfectly. It is finely milled and really smooth on the skin. There is more of a sheen like quality to it than chunks of golden shimmer. It is a perfect product if you’re running after the satiny, dewy look.  The product is fairly pigmented. I always try to look for highlighters that aren’t intensly pigmented, just because it’s really easy to overdo them. I find this palette to be of the exact pigmentation quality that I was looking for! It is very easily buildable, making it a great product for a day to night transition. There is a little gritty feeling to it, which is caused by the shimmer, but to be really honest it’s not very noticeable.

I really, really like them. They are a little bit on the expensive side for a drugstore but it’s a great product and I’m kinda in love.

Pros:

  • Five separate shades that can be used together
  • Can be used in a lot of ways
  • Satiny Finish
  • Pigmented
  • Easily Buildable
  • Cost Effective

Cons:

  • Very Fragile Packaging
  • Availability in India

Rating:  A-

Price: $11 – $12

Recommendation: I think the Revlon Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow is  a great product as it’s a highlighter, bronzer, blush and five eyeshadows in one. I love the satiny finish and that it’s buildable. The staying power is not bad either – stays upto five to six hours and then feathers away. It’s not very travel friendly, but I can ignore that. I think we all need this!
