The Pantene Hair Dare Challenge: Pantene Total Damage Care Review

by mehak on May 20, 2014

in Haircare, Pantene, Reviews

I firmly believe that good hair days = good mood days. But I have pretty much shied away from reviewing too many haircare products on the blog myself, because my hair is actually in a pretty abysmal state. Owing to Gurgaon’s hard water problems- Im constantly fighting hairfall and have to mostly use medicated products – so when Pantene called to ask me to take the Hair Dare Challenge I was a bit like…meh! But i did take the challenge and here is how it went.

I have been using the shampoo, conditioner and mask for a while now and while I cannot say how individually these work (Iv only tried them together), I can say that together they make my hair feel soft, shiney and healthy!! The mask is something I specially like- because these heavy products usually weigh my frail hair down and it gets completely limp and lifeless ! But this mask actually nourished, added shine and still left my hair feeling a tad bit bouncy! Yay.

If i had to pick favourites I would say the mask is my favourite, the shampoo is next and the conditioner is okay. I did use the conditioner on its own one day and i prefer using my regular conditioner vs using this, but when they are used together- these three form a tag team of 3 and work really well in atleast maintaining hair shine and bounce. I did not see a dramatic reduction in hairfall though…

A lot of you asked me about my hair from this pic. It was a result of Hair Dare challenge + Philips Kerashine Hair Styler

Verdict: A-

Price: Rs 199 for the mask and about 130 each for shampoo and conditioner.

Recommendation : I love the Pantene Total Damage care mask the most out of these and given how affordable it is, definitely worth a try. The range works really really well together , and thats how I have been using it. While I dont see a reduction in hair fall, I do see healthier, shinier hair that is not weighed down

If you really want a dramtic reduction in hairfall then use coconut oil …it was really effective atleast for me in the hairfall issues.
i dont like conditioners because they tend to weak the hair from roots….after continous uuse of any conditioner i have faced a severe hairfall problem….

Does the shampoo work for straight hair? Been on the lookout for a decent shampoo.

Tried them all, these r good for temporary fixes but for permanent changes (for half the prize & dry/frizzy/limp hair) try 100% virgin coconut oil + Vit. E + Castor Oil + Honey + Apple Cider Vinegar = Most amazing mask ever!! Coconut oil acts as a natural SPF, too. I know I know u r prbly scrunching up your nose at the idea of putting tel in your hair but trust me, I’ve been there and I wished I had continued my mom’s regular childhood champ’s. If u don’t like the smell of coconuts in your hair, add some almond vanilla oil. Add some neembu n dahi to get rid of dandruff-y issues :) (or eggs, avocados, etc etc…the sky is the limit)

P.S: Macadamia nut oil mask is a close second. Choose natural always.

Try organix shea butter and argan oil shampoo nd conditioner…. its a blessing for curly frizzy hair…. I share the same hair type…but now I love my hair…..embracing my natural curls….,
