Pupppyyy Powweer: Any Scooby doo lovers here? aah the good old days of Scooby Dooby doo (and scrabby dappy doo). This lipstick named ‘Orange Power’ took me back to my Scooby days not just because of the similarity in its name with the signature Puppy power phrase, but also because weren’t scooby and scrappy kind of this color of lipstick???
Anyway,me and L’oreal lipsticks have never been on the best of terms. I would always go to find something awesome, not find a shade I liked ..go ‘oh well’ and head to the mac/ colorbar counter instead. With the Moist Matte range however, L’oreal has definitely stepped it up a notch and the one I got to test out is the L’oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick in Orange Power !
The shade, as the name suggests is a pretty , peachy orange. When you look at it in the tube, I am pretty sure you are going to go “Whoaaa thats ORANGE” but when on the lips it is not exactly a neon orange. Orange for sure, but more of a peach tone to that orange so quite wearable. Infact I could wear a light swipe everyday or layer it on for a darker color. Also think it is a must check out color for darker girls , this would be a nice color for them!
In terms of pigment- thumbs up. In terms of texture- for a matte lipstick this is non drying, non stretchy, and actually glides decently across the lips. I mean, I wont go as far as to say that this shade is very creamy but you definitely wont feel you are wearing a matte lipstick with this on. It stays for approx 5 hours which is good enough for me and leaves a stain behind as well.
- Beautiful pigmented color
- Lovely soft texture that is not stretchy / hard
- Non drying texture
- Decent lasting power
- Very pretty wearable orange (the other shades in this range are lovely as well)
- Not a con, but well the price at 899/- isnt the cheapest
Price: Rs 899/-
Recommendation: If you are n the lookout for matte brights, then the L’oreal Color Riche range wont dissapoint. These have the look of a matte lipstick but the feel of a creamy one and last a decent amount of time. Non drying, easy to apply, and full of pigment – Orange power is a pretty peachy orange you definitely should check out!
