Maybelline Color Show Glitter Mania Nail Polishes: Matinee Mauve & Pink Champagne Review
Does anyone feel there has been an avalanche of new launches recently? The brands have been rolling out new products one after the other but honestly, none of them excited me very much. That was until I spotted these brand new nail paints from Maybelline – the Color Show Glitter mania range!
These are a great addition to the Color Show line we know and love so much. The nail paints are simply saturated with glitter – a single stroke deposits a whole lot of glitter, and evenly at that! It was a breeze to apply because of the consistency and the saturation of the glitter. A single coat does give good colour but is not fully opaque. Two coats, however, do the job. (I am wearing two coats of both the polishes in the pictures.) I love the gritty finish they give. The staying power is good as well. I wore these without a top coat and noticed a little tip wear on the third day, but nothing major…you could get away without changing your polish for another couple of days. However, they are a pain to remove, as is expected from glitter polishes. I had to scrub away for quite a few minutes and still found glitter all over my fingers afterwards. However, I think it is worth it for all this gorgeousness.
Matinee Mauve is a purple base with tiny purple glitter and larger silver ones. I was attracted to this colour the first out of the eight shades when I saw them at the store. It is a very fun colour. Pink Champagne is a very light pink base with a whole lot of silver glitter, both small and large. Aptly named, me thinks! Normally I am not fond of silvery colours for my nails as they make my hands look a little dull, but the pink hint in this one totally elevates the colour and gives a very elegant, classy look. I picked this one up just because I didn’t want to get only one colour, but this has turned out to be my favourite shade of the two!
- Great pigmentation and glitter intensity
- Good staying power
- Easy to apply
- Removing them is a big pain
Price: INR 125 each (yes, a hike from the 75 bucks of the regular Color Show)
Recommendation: At this price and with such pigmented glittery colours, what’s not to love? Go get yourself one of these! I got just two but now I want to get a couple more of these. Now, if only Maybelline India would launch the Metallics, the Holographics and the Polka Dots here!
