Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick in Two For Tango: Swatches & Review
Every year there is a media frenxy about how pink is the new black, or coral is the new gold…and I don’t quite understand it..whats next? Blue is the new green??? While color trends sway with every season, Orange is the flavour of the season for me! It is so versatile & gorgeous, it instantly lights up the face and I think orange in any form suits our Indian skin a lot. A recent addition to my orange collection is Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick in Two For Tango – a beautiful bright peach orange shade. Two For Tango will look stunning on fair to medium complexion girls but not sure about how it will look on dusky complexion- would work as a peachy nude.
Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick as the name suggests has a creamy matte finish but somehow I find the texture of this range more drying as compared to the Velvet Matte range. This lipstick feels creamy when applied freshly but soon it settles for a powdery finish which I am not a big fan of . I prefer creamy matte lipsticks which dont dry the lips over the time. After few minutes of application, it starts to settle into fine lines & give a flaky appearance to the lips. I have tried it with a lip balm beneath but it still tends to flake. For the price, the texture and finish is inferior compared to Velvet Matte ranges.
The bullet has a weird shape to it which is hard to describe, I am guessing it is structured like this to make the application of lipstick easy but actually it doesn’t help much, works like ordinary lipstick bullet only. It is well pigmented, gives opaque coverage in single swipe. It doesn’t bleed as such since the finish is powdery but it needs touch up every few hours with meals. It doesn’t fade away evenly either.
- Beautiful peach orange color
- Well pigmented
- Lasts few hours on lips
- Matte lipstick with powdery finish. It feels dry after sometime.
- It tends to flake even when applied on prepped lips.
- It fades away unevenly & requires frequent touch ups.
- For the price, the quality is below the Velvet Matte range by the same brand.
Price: Rs. 475
Recommendation: After using Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipsticks, I had very high expectations from the Matte Touch range but it fails to deliver in the texture department. It flakes after a few minutes of application, it needs frequent touch up & it fades unevenly. No doubt the color Two For Tango is a stunning peachy orange but for the price, I wouldn’t recommend this only because of the texture.
