I am back with a review on another extremely pretty shade of lipstick – Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Stormy Pink, read about my previous find Mac Toying Around lipstick . As you can see, I am a sucker for brighter lip colors and this apparently, is one of Revlon’s vintage lipstick shades. It was launched in 1950 and still sells. I think this reason should be enough for any pink lover to grab this lipstick. :)
Color: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Stormy Pink is a candy pink with purple undertones. Generally, such colors wash me out. But this lipstick, with its strong purple hint, does wonders to my face. The lipstick certainly is not a brightening shade that you can wear on its own. Simple eye makeup and a little color on the cheeks is necessary for this shade to look good. If you like baby pink and pastel shades, you will definitely love this unique shade. This is one of the shades that make you feel ‘Glam Chic’ in a second. :)
Quality: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Stormy Pink is a lipstick from the matte range. The finish is not completely matte, however, and has a bit of satin feel to it. The lipstick is neither very dry nor very hydrating to the lips. I will advise to exfoliate and moisturize your lips beforehand. Stormy Pink has a sheer but buildable pigmentation. You really need to work a bit to get the full color on the lips. On an average, it takes me about 5-6 swipes to get the intensity I want. But, it does not spoil the way the shade looks on my lips. The lipstick does not look cakey or emphasize the fine lines. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Stormy Pink has a good staying power. It lasts for an average 5-6 hours on my lips and also holds its ground, to a certain extent, even while eating. It does not bleed or stain either. The lipstick comes in a black lipstick case, with a clear top to see the color. Quite helpful when in a hurry. ;)
- Bright color without looking neon.
- Beautiful matte-satin finish.
- Long staying power.
- Feels comfortable on the lips.
- Applies evenly.
- Does not bleed.
- A vintage color from the collection.
- Sheer pigmentation.
- Might not suit deeper skin tones.
- Limited availability.
Recommendation: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Stormy Pink is a gorgeous cool-toned pink with purple undertones. Uber chic color which gives you instant glamour. May wash out deeper skin tones. But a must pick for fair and medium skin tone beauties. Plus, it is a part of the vintage lipsticks collection. Sure shot way to have a slice of the history. ;)
