L’oreal Paris Moist Matte Lipstick in Lincoln Rose: Swatches & Review
The famous Lincoln Rose lipstick made headlines when it was said that this is the shade Aishwarya Rai wore to cannes. It’s been sold out in quite a L’oreal counter since then and I couldnt wait to get my hands on it.
The texture and formula of the lipstick is actually what they claim-moist matte. It feels very soft and smooth and gives a satin finish to the lips, the pigmentation is great and you need only two swipes to cover pigmented lips (only one swipe in case you don’t have pigmented lips). It doesn’t get flaky no matter how much you layer it and feels very thin on the lips. The formula feels quite comfortable on the lips and doesn’t emphasize lines and dry areas of the lips. It doesn’t get patchy after a while and stays evenly throughout its wear time. The wear time is decent too. And I wore it for about 7+ hours. (Since it does stain lips). These lipsticks are fragrance free.
The shade Lincoln rose has been the most raved shade of this range and I didn’t have something like this in my stash so I picked this up. It is a bright red with pink undertones ( Sadly my camera didn’t pick up the red undertone of the shade and it looked warm red in the swatches. ). It is a very vibrant red and it brightens up the face a lot.
Now coming to the downside of the product is that I have faced a problem with this breaking at the base. I hadn’t expected this after spending almost 1000 bucks for a lippy and that too from a drugstore brand. Since the bullet is feeble you have to be careful while applying this.
- Gorgeous packaging.
- A very pretty bright red.
- Despite being matte feels very light and comfortable on the lips.
- Doesn’t emphasize lines and dry patches.
- Doesn’t get patchy after a while.
- Pigmentation is amazing.
- Superb wear time.
- The bullet can break so you have to be careful while applying.
Price: Rs 899 for 4.2 gm.
Recommendation: The shade Lincoln rose is a vibrant red with a hint of pink- think of a gorgeous raspberry color that would look fabulous on everyone. Despite being matte the formula feels quite comfortable on the lips and doesn’t emphasize dry area of the lips. The pigmentation is superb too. But you have to be careful while applying the lipstick as the bullet feels feeble and can break easily with a slight pressure.
