Happy New Year to all! One of my new year resolutions for 2015 (shouldn’t really call it a resolution!) is to experiment with light & pastel colors in nail polishes. Until now I had this strong belief that lighter tones don’t flatter my skintone and are best suited for paler skin tones. So, while year 2014 was all about bright reds, pinks & corals or bold dark colors, I am beginning my 2015 with Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in Fresh Linen.
Color: Fresh Linen is a pearlescent finish white with strong yellow undertones . I did like how this color looks in the bottle but I am unsure how it looks against my skin. It is a bit too yellow for my liking.
Application & Texture: Being a lighter shade I did expect the color to be on the sheer side. Even with 3 coats of application I didn’t get an opaque coverage. Also, the formula is a bit uneven and hence the visible brush strokes.
Drying & Lasting Time: I didn’t have to wait long between coats during application, it was quick. Fresh Linen remained fresh on my nails for about 3 days and then it started to chip.
Packaging: I adore the packaging – stout bottle which does kind of resemble perfume bottles and it looks pretty. The brush is on the thinner side, but it is efficient.
Fragrance: Fresh Linen has a tricky fragrance and it’s really hard for me to tell what it is exactly. It does smell of freshly done laundry and it has a powdery feel to it. Honestly, this fragrance didn’t go well with my senses.
- Fresh Linen will look beautiful against light pale skin
- Dries quickly between coats
- Packaging is beautiful
- Quality is not par with the price
- Not an apt choice for our olive/yellow skin tone
- Formula is on the sheer side. Needs atleast 3 coats of application
- Started chipping within 3 days
- Application is uneven
Price: Rs. 350
Recommendation: Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in Fresh Linen is a great color for everyday/office wear; it just didn’t work for me. And the quality given is not at par with the price you pay. At 350, I expect nothing but the best. I think this can be easily skipped.
