Maybelline The Colossal Kohl Kajal in Jewelled Jade Review
Yaayy!! Finally Maybelline has come up with 3 new shades of the infamous and most loved Colossal Kajal. Their classic Black Kohl has received so much love from girls in India that whenever I happen to visit a ladies washroom, I see a yellow color stick kajal in almost everyone’s hands!! Also the turquoise kajal created a buzz in the beauty world. Now there’s been an addition – 3 gorgeous shades have been launched and as a crazy makeup fan, I grabbed all three. So let’s see how the shade Jewelled Jade fares.
Product Description: Maybelline Colossal Kohl Kajal enhances the appearance of your eyes.
- Infused with nourishing ingredients and vitamin E this kajal gives soothing effect to your eyes.
- Smooth texture of this kajal glides effortlessly onto eyes.
- Color stays for minimum 12 hours without fading.
- It features a unique tip which makes application easy and comfortable
My Experience with Maybelline The Colossal Kohl Kajal – Jewelled Jade:
The previous two Colossal Kajal launches by Maybelline – The Black Kohl and the Turquoise Kajal were both much enjoyed by me. I did repurchase the turquoise one twice and the black ones innumerable times. So it was obvious that if Maybelline came out with any other shade in this line, I shall buy them all. This particular shade – Jewelled Jade – is so pretty and looks so good when worn on the lids and the waterline. Let me give a more detailed description.
Packaging: The packaging is just like the other Colossal Kajals. It comes in a Yellow coloured stick with the details printed in the colour which is the shade of the kajal which I really like. Also the cap closes securely with a click. But I was very disappointed when I saw that the other oval cardboard packaging was missing. And further to my let down, there was no seal or plastic cover that would ensure that the product has reached me unopened. These things are so uncomfortable, I swear.
Colour: The shade Jewelled Jade is such a unique blue-ish teal colour. It only appears to be a matte finish on the eye lids, but it sure contains very minute and finely milled shimmers that add a beautiful sheen which I absolutely adore.
Texture: The texture is not extremely creamy like the Faces eye pencils or the Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate and also not very dry and drab. It goes on the waterline and the eye lids without any tugging or pulling of the eyes.
Pigmentation: There is a teenie-weenie bit of disappointment in this department. The pigmentation is not to die for, but not bad either. It does take 2 swipes to get a fuller colour, but that’s ok in my opinion.
Longevity: Now for some good news!! This baby is extremely long lasting and lasts for about 8-9 hours. It does last on the lids for a longer time as compared to the waterline, but if you smudge the kajal on the lower lash-line, its stays put all day.
Quality: The overall quality of this kajal pencil is great! Apart from the pigmentation (which is not very bad) this product is a winner in all other departments.
- Such a pretty colour!
- Sleek and sturdy twist up packaging
- Does not sting the eyes
- Very Travel friendly
- Saves the hassle of sharpening and product wastage
- Can be used on the waterline and the eye lids
- Waterproof formula
- Smudge proof
- Very long-lasting
- Very affordable
- Easy to find in a stash full of liners (yellow colour)
- Not extremely pigmented, but at this price, no complaints!
Price: INR 249/-
Recommendation: I won’t call it a “must have” product, but it sure is great for those who love experimenting with coloured kajals and enjoy good, affordable and interesting products. I would also recommend this to those who never try coloured kohls. You can check this out at an affordable price point and see for yourself how it suits you. In terms of value for money, I highly recommend this to everyone.
