FabIndia Lemongrass Stimulating & Refreshing Soap Review
I am a fan of handmade, fragrant soaps. I keep buying them every now and then for myself and also for gifting. I believe handmade soaps do have some aesthetic feel in them. Today I’m going to share my view about the bathing bar I recently picked from Fabindia. I have tried a couple of their bathing products before and had a good experience. So, I had an urge to try all of them to find out the best suited one for me . I choose the “Lemongrass Stimulating and Refreshing Bathing Bar” for today’s review cause this is my second time using this product and it’s decent enough for trying.
Some facts about lemongrass: Cymbopogon citratus, commonly known as lemon grass as well as oil grass, is a tropical plant from Southeast Asia which is often sold in stem form. Its leaves are used to make tea which can relieve stomach and gut problems.
What does their website claim? Stimulating and refreshing soap containing lemongrass oil known for its anti depressant, antiseptic and other therapeutic properties.
The handmade soaps which include lemongrass have complete facial and skin care protection including anti-aging and wrinkle preventing (although I don’t know about all the commercial soaps). I love the essential oil of lemongrass, which is strong antiseptic and anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and effective as an insect repellent.
Packaging: The soap is packed simply, in two coats of clear, plastic film and there is a paper label attached on it which has all the details written over it.
Quality and texture: The soap is very soft and dissolves very fast. It’s a clear soap and has no exfoliating particles. The soap lathers up and cleans well. I wish it had some moisturising effect on the skin. I guess, it’s basically a fragrant soap and if you have normal to oily body skin, you can easily try this out. I don’t think it meets the stimulating claim a lot, but yeah, it does feel nice to bathe with a soap which smells nice and refreshing.
Overall, it’s an average/decent hand-made soap. At the price, I won’t consider it bad.
P.S: My hubby thinks it smells like tulsi (Basil)…..
Pros of Fabindia Lemongrass Stimulating and Refreshing Soap:
- Smells great.
- It is a clear soap, which cleans well.
- Is not harsh on the skin, does not dry it up.
- Lathers up well.
- Fairly priced.
- Easily available.
Cons of Fabindia Lemongrass Stimulating and Refreshing Soap:
- Not very moisturising.
- Dissolves very fast, I don’t think it will last more than 2 weeks.
- I like soaps with exfoliating particles, but this contains none.
Price: INR 65
Recommendation: Overall FabIndia Lemongrass Stimulating & Refreshing Soap is a good product with reasonable price. Nothing high-fi. But I do not recommend it for dry skin people because you will need heavy moisturizer after using this product.
