Forest Essentials Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier Hair Cleanser & Conditioner Review
Forest Essentials Shampoo & Conditioner is my go to product when it comes to hair care. No matter which shampoo or conditioner I switch to in between but I always keep coming back to Forest Essentials. My frizzy, dry and fragile hair have been lately loving the combo of Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier variant.

has anti-oxidant properties. Bhringraj is excellent for hair growth, strengthens the hair, nourishes and prevents dandruff. Sandalwood is moisture levels is toning, purifying, cooling and soothing, while Vetiver is detoxifying and cooling.
Now, that’s some really elaborate explanation above! But to cut it short, Forest Essentials Hair Cleanser Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier is a light shampoo for everyday use. It is free of harsh chemicals and does not contain SLS, which is an important ingredient if you want your shampoo to lather well and this cleanser does not foam much. Generally, it gets difficult to figure out in this scenario when the shampoo does not foam if it has done its work of cleaning the scalp or not. Since, I have been using this for so long that I have formed a routine – wash hair every alternate day and I use it only once to get clear scalp. However, it works differently in humid conditions and I have to use it twice to make sure my scalp is dirt free.
With regular use my hair has become softer and it feels like it has some life now. It also has worked in way that I see little less hairfall and it keeps dandruff at bay.
Forest Essentials Hair Conditioner Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier is a luxury product for me. Usually, the hair cleanser does the trick of making my hair soft and manageable and whatever it does not do is taken care by my L’Oreal Professionnel Liss Unlimited Evening Primrose Serum. It is like a habit or more like a ritual I feel washing hair is incomplete if I do not follow it by using the conditioner. It does make a difference using Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier Conditioner after wash by making my hair little more silky to touch but it is not absolute necessary, in my opinion.
Forest Essentials have recently revamped their packaging and now these bottles come with a pump dispenser and extra lid. And, along with new packaging they have also increased the price of both the products marginally (it hurts to pay extra bucks!) Though it surely gives more control over the quantity of product to be dispensed but I don’t see a world of difference in its old and new packaging.
Forest Essentials Hair Cleanser Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier is a thick honey colored liquid which is best used when diluted with water. And the Hair Conditioner is thick consistency milky white product which disperses evenly on wet hair, a little quantity goes a long way.
And the best part of this duo is its fragrance! I absolutely adore the Sandalwood smell, it is aromatic and stays fresh for an entire day. I just love how my hair smells after using this.
- Love the composition of ingredients it is made with
- It is paraben & SLS free
- Efficiently cleanses scalp
- Makes hair healthy with regular use
- Hair has become less prone to breakage
- It keeps dandruff at bay
- Hair smells amazing of sandalwood
- It is expensive!
- It does not lather much. And if you use it with hard water, it is quite disappointing
Price: Forest Essentials Hair Cleanser Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier – Rs. 775
Forest Essentials Hair Conditioner Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier – Rs. 875
Recommendation: Forest Essentials Hair Cleanser & Conditioner Mysore Sandalwood & Vetivier is kind of product which you will either love or hate. There is no midway. For damaged hair, I would surely recommend this duo but you need to be patient as it takes time to show results. Also, it is important to keep in mind that the hair cleanser does not lather much and it can be a bit of disappointment for some. So, choose wisely!
