Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Aubergine: Swatches & Review
Don’t we all keep our deep shades of eye shadows and lipsticks for colder weather and lighter shades for warmer seasons?? It is a norm that we all have been following for long and seems just right. However, this year it is ought to change. Makeup trends indicate that winter appropriate shades will definitely make their presence felt even in spring and summer. So ladies, do not yet put your jewel-toned eye shadows and lip colors away. I haven’t and thats why I am reviewing a fall shade for you all – Revlon Colorburst Gloss in Aubergine. This gloss has been around for years now and for a good reason.
Color: Revlon Colorburst Gloss in Aubergine is a gorgeous shade of muted plum with very subtle shimmers. In fact, shimmers are not at all visible on the lips. All you get is a beautiful creamy shade of plum. The shade will definitely suit all the skin tones. Well, people will argue that plum is essentially a fall color. But this gloss, with its pink undertones, will not look out of place even in summers. It is perfect for nights outs with just an eyeliner. And for brave hearts like me, this is a shade that can be an everyday color as well as appropriate for work. Yes girls, a deep shade that will not look flashy at work!!!
Quality: Revlon Colorburst Gloss in Aubergine has a very creamy and smooth texture. Though it is slightly thick, but it spreads easily and does not form any clumps. Feels very light and hydrating on the lips. The lips get a natural shine and do not feel sticky. The lip gloss has a good coverage. It covers my pigmented lips in just a couple of swipes. However, the pigmentation is sheer and quite buildable.
Revlon Colorburst Gloss in Aubergine has a good staying power of 3-4 hours. This is impressive as normal lip glosses do not last beyond 1-2 hours. Though the lip gloss will surely not sustain a meal and you will have to re-apply. The lip gloss comes in a transparent rectangular tube with a sleek criss-cross design on the cap. The applicator is long and flexible and has a straight tip with a slight curve in the front. This makes applying the gloss really easy.
