NYX Butter Lipstick In Razzle Review
I am back with another lipstick review today. This is the NYX Butter Lipstick in Razzle. NYX launched their butter lipsticks a while ago and it gained instant popularity creating quite a buzz in the beauty world. They sold like hot cakes and were a common recommendation of most beauty bloggers. I have 3 shades of the NYX Butter Lipsticks and today I’ll be reviewing my most favourite and very summer appropriate shade which is Razzle.
Product Description: Pamper your lips with a hydrating kiss of smooth Butter Lipstick in 22 luxurious shades. The delicate texture of satin fused with the high color saturation creates an even finish on lips that’s long-wearing and beautiful.
My Experience with NYX Butter Lipstick in Razzle:
I really love fun and bright coloured lipsticks and I was so happy to find out that NYX Butter Lipsticks had some really gorgeous shades suiting my preferences. So I picked up 3 shades from CherryCulture.com and since then I’ve been enjoying these lippies a lot.
Packaging: The NYX Butter Lipsticks come in a regular twist up lipstick tube with color-coded packaging which makes searching this lipstick so much easier and fun. The packaging is colourful and really adorable but again….the cap does not close with a satisfying and loud “click” sound. Why NYX Why????
Colour: The colour is such a gorgeous and bright fuchsia colour which I absolutely adore. It is a great shade for ladies with fair to medium complexion and will brighten up the face. For beauties with duskier complexion, you can layer this shade on a muted neutral tone pink lipstick to add that pop of brightness without washing out your complexion. All in all, it’s a great unique summer shade.
Texture: The texture of this lippie is super soft and very creamy. It literally glides on the lips like butter, exactly why it has this name. It also feels quite moisturizing on the lips and does not dry them out.
Smell: These lippies do not have a strong smell to them, but they sure do have a faint lipstick-y smell. Neither does it bother the nose, nor does it linger. That’s so cool!
Pigmentation: Now comes the best part of this baby. It has bang on pigmentation in just one swipe. It also covers pigmented lips and provides a great pop of colour all in one swipe.
Longevity: Oops!! Here’s the sad part. The longevity of this lippie is not up to the mark. It does stay on the lips for 3 to 4 hours without eating and drinking, but then it has to be reapplied for maintaining the glossy-ness and opaque colour on the lips. I think the low staying power is due to the creamy texture of the lipstick. Though it’s not a major con or deal breaker for me, some might find this feature a little dissatisfying.
Quality: The overall quality of this product is great considering the pigmentation, packaging and price. I agree that the lasting power is not amazing, but that’s not a big deal! Overall, I really like it.
- Actually applies like butter on the lips
- Very creamy texture
- Quite hydrating and light weight
- Very pigmented in a single swipe
- Gorgeous pop of bold fuchsia colour
- Color-coded packaging (which I absolutely love)
- Does not dry out the lips
- Gives a beautiful semi-glossy finish
- Pretty comfortable to wear
- Does not settle in the fine lines of the lips
- Available in a huge range of colours
- Very affordable
- Cap does not close with a “click” sound (huge con for me)
- Needs to be reapplied due to its creamy texture
- Lips need to be exfoliated and moisturised for applying this lippie
- Availability in India is a major issue
Price: $6 for 4.5gms (INR 382/- approx)
Recommendation: Ok let me be honest….I do not love these lippies as much I love my Revlon Lip Butters, Colorbar Velvet Mattes, L’Oreal Infallible Rouge or Moist Mattes and Chambor Powder Matte Lip Crayons. But if you are a lipstick hoarder like me or love fancy things in your vanity, do give this one a try for sure. It’s really cute to hold in your hands, looks so adorable on the dressing table and also delivers well as a lipstick. I love these lippies a lot and will try to get some more shades from this range.
