Colorbar Just Smokey Kajal In Just Teal Review (1) Colorbar Just Smokey Kajal In Just Teal Review

Being the makeup junkie that I am, I feel the constant need to try new makeup. Out of all the makeup items, I especially get drawn to Kajal pencils. A typical Indian girl that I am proud to be!! I honestly feel a girl can never have enough makeup, especially kohls. So today I bring to you a fantastic Kajal pencil by Colorbar called the Just Smokey Kajal in the shade “Just Teal”. I hope you enjoy the review.

Product Description: Colorbar Just Smoky Kajal is a velvety and super smoky kajal. Comes with the perfect smudge-tip applicator for blending and creating dramatic smoky eyes Waterproof eye pencil that stays up to 12 hours. Ophthalmologically and dermatologically approved.

My Experience with Colorbar Just Smokey Kajal in Just Teal 004

I must confess that I am a cosmetic counter sales person’s dream customer ever!! They do keep raving about some great products that the brand has and all I say in the end is, “Ok, I’ll take it.” I somehow don’t like to be blunt and say “No”, besides, after all its makeup – my ultimate source of happiness….lolzz….It’s one of my guilty pleasures. So this is exactly how I came across this kajal and I am glad I did not say no to it. Let me explain this baby in detail.

Packaging: The Just Smokey Kajal comes in a nice color-coded pencil with a smudger at the other end. It also comes enclosed in a silver coloured cardboard box which contains the details of the product. It’s not a twist up pencil so it has to be sharpened. Awkwardly enough, I do like eye pencils that have to be sharpened instead of twist up pencils. Sharpening kajal pencils do give me some weird satisfaction!! So I basically have no complains with the packaging. In fact, I love it.

Colour: Oohh!! Such a pretty colour!! It’s a proper turquoise kajal. I have no idea why Colorbar has named it “Just Teal”. The name sure is misleading, but the colour…oohh….I am in love!!

Smell and Texture: The texture of this kajal is so soft and creamy, exactly why it glides like a dream on the eyelids as well as on the waterline. It is also fragrance free which means it does not irritate sensitive eyes. Yaayy!!

Pigmentation: This kajal delivers fantastic pigmentation in one swipe. Since the pigmentation is brilliant, it need not be (sc)rubbed on the waterline ‘n’ number of times. Just one swipe without tugging or pulling the eye, and you are done!!

Longevity: This is another great feature of this awesome baby. It lasts on the eyelids until you take good amount of efforts to remove it with a makeup remover. On the waterline, it lasts for at least 8 to 9 hours, provided you do not have the habit of rubbing your eyes constantly. Two thumbs up for longevity!!

Quality: The overall quality of this kajal is super amazing!! Its creamy, extremely pigmented, amazingly long lasting, has a smudger and works as a multi use kajal. The price sure is on the higher side, but that does not demean the awesome quality of this product.

Pros:

  • Adorable color-coded packaging with a smudger
  • Great pigmentation
  • Creamy kajal and hence glides easily
  • Does not tug or pull the skin on the eyes
  • Beautiful colour (more of turquoise than teal)
  • Smudge proof and feather proof
  • Water proof (mentioned in bold letters on the package)
  • Once set, it does not move at all
  • Perfect for creating a smokey eye look, esp. with the smudger
  • Can be used on the upper and lower eyelids
  • Works great as an eye shadow base
  • Amazing staying power
  • Does not get used up quickly
  • Safe for sensitive eyes
  • Does not cause irritation to the eyes
  • Easily available

Cons:

  • Price!!!! (What the heck!! 650 bucks??)
  • The tip might break while sharpening due to its creamy texture. The best way is to keep the kajal pencil in the freezer/fridge for 10 minutes before sharpening. This will ensure that the tip of the kajal won’t break.

Rating: A

Price: (A whooping) INR 650/-

Recommendation: The kajal is no doubt of good quality, but I feel it’s comparatively pricey. There are other good kajals in the market (like Faces) which are also of good quality but available at half the price. I will recommend this product only to people (like me) who are eager to try every new makeup product that hits the market, no matter what!! It is definitely not a must have product, but if the price does not bother you, then you can pick a couple of them. Quality wise, it’s excellent.
