My skin has been dry as a dessert lately due to crazy hormonal changes happening in my body and my trusty Pond’s Gold Radiance Serum has just stopped working for me. I was on a hunt for something more intense to get the liveliness back into my skin. Splurged into the Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum in Oil with high expectations, read on to know if it worked for me or not.
Though the concept of serum + oil is quite intriguing but the texture feels quite heavy and oily on application. Nothing bothersome that a super dry skin like mine won’t enjoy. The oil takes a couple of minutes sink in and hence it is apt for night application only (I apply it in day as well sometimes when I am not leaving the house). It has mild pleasant fragrance though I can’t really tell what exactly it is. What I love about this serum in oil is that I do wake up every morning with a healthy looking and supple skin. My concern though is that by end of day my dry cheeks turn red again and cry for moisture. I don’t see long term results and I have been using this serum in oil for little over a month. Good thing, it did not break out my sensitive skin. I think girls with combination skin would be best benefited by this.
When it comes to packaging, the oil comes in a glass bottle with a glass dropper and it is always at a risk of breakage. Overall, I use about 4-5 drops and hence this bottle will last me easily for 2 months at least.
- Makes skin supple and soft
- Serum + oil
- Would be best suited for combination skin
- It does not feel greasy
- Glass bottle is prone to breakage
- Its costly
- Won’t work for very dry skin
Price: Rs. 1695
Recommendation: The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil is a light weight oil which would suit combination or even oily skin in my opinion. It does hydrate well but for a super dry skin like mine it wasn’t enough. I would have recommended it if it could have just worked on my super cheeks and helped me get rid of redness.
