Picture this : A bride-to-be is looking for makeup inspiration on social media (pretty standard !). She finds a photograph of a gorgeous bride. She wants to recreate that look. BUT the picture is of a friend’s friend or some other distant connection. She can’t really e-mail her and request a list of products used (the bride is probably enjoying her honeymoon). Maybe the picture is shared by the photography team at the wedding. While they’ll be happy to talk about cameras, flash and angles, makeup isn’t their forte. Then how does our bride-to-be figure out which highlighter is responsible for that incredible glow ? Which lipstick is that lovely shade of red ?
The answer is the Makeup Artist whose magical fingers (and brushes :P) were responsible for creating that look in the first place ! So, to make your search for the perfect bridal look hassle free, P&B brings you all the dope from real bride Palak’s wedding makeup.
Real Bride : Palak Jain
Makeup Artist : Shruti Sharma

Shruti reveals “Palak and I did not have a chance to meet before her wedding as she lives abroad but we discussed her requirements over the phone. She wanted subtle makeup that further enhanced her already beautiful features.
Eyes : I first primed her eyes with Benefit Cosmetics, Stay Don’t Stray. For eye shadows I used NYX Ultra Pearl Mania shade ORO on her eyelids, MAC Gorgeous Gold to highlight and MAC Mulch to contour her eyes. For her big beautiful eyes, I used Inglot pigment # 83 (a really nice metallic antique gold shade) all over her lids and contoured her eye crease subtly with MAC eye shadow Swiss Chocolate. I used a gold shade (Mac Gorgeous Gold) for the inner corners and on the brow bone. I lined her eyes with Inglot gel eyeliner #77 and put Maybelline gel eyeliner in the waterline. To finish the eye makeup, I added a pair of really voluminous false lashes to make her eyes look more open and beautiful.
Face : Her skin is a bit towards combination type so I moisturized her face with a light moisturizing lotion from Forest Essentials (my favourite !) and used the yellow tinted Makeup Forever HD Micro Perfecting Primer to give her complexion a slight lift and brighten it a bit. For foundation I opted for my trusted Makeup Forever HD. I then highlighted her face with Estee Lauder Double Wear Brush On Glow Highlighter that gave her skin a flawless finish and a very sculpted look. To contour I used MAC Format. For blush I used Illamasqua Lover.
Lips : I used NYX Amsterdam as the base and topped it off with Colorbar Sensuous Red lipstick. I finished the look with Chanel natural finish face powder and some makeup fixer. The hair was kept center parted keeping in mind that she had a matha patti to wear.”
