All girls with deep/warm skintones – this post is tailor made just for you ! We picked the brain of renowned makeup artist Shalini Singh (Style Studio) and created a list of 5 makeup products that work really well on dusky skintones. Without further ado, lets give you all the scoop. Over to Shalini.

1. NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation or NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (Shade – Syracuse)

I’m a huge fan of NARS products and love its foundations. I believe that dusky girls should enjoy their complexion instead of trying to look fairer. One must always choose a foundation keeping in mind their skin’s undertone. Most dusky girls have a yellowish undertone, hence choosing a foundation that complements this is important. The end result we’re looking for is how our face looks when it is freshly washed. Using a foundation that has a pink undertone may look greyish/ghostly.

Price – All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation $ 48, Sheer Glow Foundation $ 45.

2. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Shade – Caramel)

This concealer is waterproof and great for the summers. I never step out of the house without it. It is also paraben free, alcohol free, synthetic fragrance free and non comedogenic. The formulation is so good, you can skip setting it with a powder !

Price – $ 29

3. ColorBar Take Me As I Am Lipstick (Shade – Mysterious Nude)

Mysterious NudeColorBar’s Take Me As I Am is a chubby stick or a jumbo crayon lipstick. It is the perfect nude lipstick for Indian warmer skintones. In my opinion, dusky girls should avoid going for lipstick shades like – peach, lilac and powder pink because they have a tendency to look pasty.

Price – INR 900 / 3.94 gm

4. MAC Red Lipsticks (Shades – Ruby Woo and Russian Red)

Every girl should own a classic red lipstick and MAC has some really nice ones. MAC Ruby Woo and MAC Russian Red work really well for warmer skintones. You could also try Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in the shade American Doll ($ 20) which is a classic retro red.

Price – INR 1450 / 3 gm

5. MAC Powder Blushes (Shades – Gingerly, Pinch Me and Desert Rose)

MAC Powder BlushesGingerly (left), Pinch me (centre) and Desert Rose (right)

While choosing blushes it is a good idea to look for warmer shades and hues of brown. MAC Gingerly is a capri bronze, MAC Pinch Me is a medium dirty rose coral, while MAC Desert Rose is a soft reddish burgundy. I also love using the Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer by Too Faced ($ 30).

Price – INR 1800 / 6 gm
