Hello everyone ! We have all seen and used “The Nudes” Palette by Maybelline, one of the most raved palettes launched in India. Riding on the popularity of their previous launch, the newest launch by Maybelline is “The Blushed Nudes” palette which is mostly comprised of rose-pinks, dusty rose and earthy taupes. It consists of a mix of shimmers and matte eyeshadows in 12 gorgeous shades, in contrast to The Nudes Palette which consists of warm earthy nudes.
Claims: With Maybelline New York’s new Blushed Nudes Palette, embrace the upcoming fashion season and create endless, show stopping ‘bare-IT-all’ looks!
Packaging: The packaging is similar to The Nudes palette, no changes at all except the palette is pink in colour. No mirror is provided which is disappointing. It has an applicator with sponge tip on one side and a pretty useless brush on the other side. The packaging is sturdy and closes with a click.
My take on The Blushed Nudes palette: I bought this palette even before it was launched in India (thanks to duty free!) It isn’t really a dupe for the Naked 3 palette which a lot of people thought it was. There are no names given to the shadows so I’ve numbered them from 1-12. I don’t really like bold eyes or even nude eyes but prefer rosy pinks or taupes on a daily basis in my makeup routine, which is the reason I got this palette.
It has amazing pinks and taupes which can be used every day and would look good with any outfit. You can wear it to college or to work. I prefer using a shimmery shade all over my lid and working with a matte shade on my crease or on the outer V of my eye. You can also create some bold looks by mixing the taupes and golden. If at times I’m running late, I just dust the dusty rose shade all over my lids and it looks like I’ve worked a lot on my eyeshadow.
The shadows are pretty chalky and I experienced a lot of fallout when I used the shimmery shades. The pigmentation isn’t that great when it comes to certain shades so you really need to build up the colour which can be pretty annoying. As you can clearly see in the swatches – shimmery shades are not very pigmented. Also note that I’ve used a primer underneath the swatches.
- Decently priced
- 12 shades – you can create a lot of looks
- Chalky texture
- Lighter shimmery shades are not pigmented enough
Verdict : B –
Price : INR 899 for 9.6 gm
Recommendation : I wouldn’t really repurchase the palette since the eyeshadows are too hard to work with, especially the first 4 shades from left, top row. There are better alternatives like – L’oreal Paris Color Riche La palette (Nude Rose) which has similar shades.
