Having an even and flawless base is the cornerstone of any makeup look. If your base is streaky, it can ruin everything else.  L’oreal launched a new foundation and I decided to purchase it as I like to use foundations of different finishes, that I can use according to the coverage I want.

What L’oreal Claims : Shower fresh sensation, Air light texture, Natural coverage, Semi matte finish and 12h of long-lasting power. Thanks to the natural powerful sebum absorbent volcanic perlite complex, it magically absorbs skin oil and shine for a lasting shine-free matte finish.

Packaging :  The foundation comes in a very cute metallic pink colored tube which dispenses the right amount of product. The tube contains 30ML of product and is great for traveling.

Texture and Consistency : The foundation has medium consistency- not too runny, not too thick. It blends so easily on the skin giving the most natural glow. It almost feels like there is nothing on your skin. It gives light to medium coverage and can hide minor blemishes or pigmentation.  It dries to a matte finish so if you have normal skin type you don’t really need to set it with powder. I would not recommend it to girls who have dry skin. But if you have combination skin type which is just slightly on the drier side you can definitely give this a go with a good moisturizer underneath (as matte foundations tend to enhance dry patches). The foundation has SPF 11 PA+++.

My Experience :  For reference, I have combination skin type. I have been using this foundation for quite a while now and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an everyday foundation which gives a natural glow. I am really enjoying using this. It doesn’t feel heavy or drying on the skin. The best way to use this foundation is with your fingers. You only need a small amount to cover the whole face. It evens out my skin and hides my acne scars. You can easily build it up to give you full coverage. The thing I like the most is that it isn’t patchy. So you really don’t have to worry, just use the right tools. It didn’t break me out (Yay !).

Did it live up to its claims ?  I would say yes, it surely did ! Coverage, texture, finish – it scores on all 3 parameters. The only claim it didn’t live up to is – 12 hours lasting power. On me it stays for 6-7 hours but gradually it starts fading. As I don’t have oily skin I don’t have to worry about my T-zone getting oily at the end of the day. Usually, I don’t set it with powder and it doesn’t attract any dirt or pollution.

Pros :

  • Easily available & affordable
  • Gives light to medium coverage.
  • Evens out skin.
  • Mattifies the skin without drying it out.
  • Blends very easily.

Cons :

  • Shade range – only 5 shades which is too less for Indian skin tones.
  • Not suited for people with extremely dry skin.

Verdict : A

Price : Rs.595

Recommendation : Overall, I am really happy with my purchase. It is the best lightweight foundation I’ve used so far. It’s super affordable and gives a beautiful natural glow.
