From the brand : The exquisite matte-finish nail polish formula guarantees one stroke, high-pigment matte perfection. Its superior patented two-fold plasticizer prevents chipping. It contains a UV filter that resists discoloration and offers a rich color pay-off. Smooth and gorgeous coverage in a single coat and a stunning, plumping effect in a double coat. These beautiful shades will make sure your nails are best-dressed always.

These matte nail polish formulas are not only made without the three most common chemicals found in nail polishes (Toluene, DBP and Formaldehyde), but also without two other very dangerous chemicals (Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor). The Nykaa Matte Collection is NOT tested on animals (just on our team!) and contains no animal-derived ingredients.

12 Shades available : White Chocolate Ganache (white), Black Cherry Pie (deep blue), Black Sesame Pudding (black), Almond Crumble (nudish brown), Squid Ink Mousse (Greyish blue), Lavender Panna Cotta (lavender), Blueberry Frosting (cool pastel blue), Cool Blue Granita (bright ice blue), Blueberry Macaron (light blue), Matcha Tiramisu (greyish green), Pink Meringue (pastel powder pink) and S’mores Milkshake (brownish purple).

Packaging : The nail polish comes in a flat frosted glass bottle with a regular brush applicator. It is not the cutest nail polish bottle around (like Ciate London) but not bad either.

Shade : Shade no.15 Lavender Panna Cotta is a very soft cool toned lavender. It does not have any pinkish/lilac hue. Its a soft pastel that most girls would love to wear. Its not too pale or too bright. I was a bit apprehensive before purchasing it and wondered if it would suit my skin tone. But I’m very happy with the way it turned out.

Pigmentation : The formulation of the polish is such that it gives an opaque colour pay off in one coat. I personally like applying two thin coats on my nails.

Texture : The texture is on the thicker side. I feel that polishes that are a bit thinner are easier to apply. With this, I take my time to ensure that it applies evenly. Because a thicker consistency can result in the polish streaking or pooling at the edges of the nails. The product dries pretty quickly and sets completely in about 8-10 minutes.

Finish : The best part about it is the finish. Its not shiny or glossy or glittery but a satin matte.

Longevity : No chipping at all for 3-4 days. It lasted longer on my non-dominant hand. You will see it come off sooner if you’re involved in household chores etc.

Pros :

  • Shade selection (mostly pastels with a few dark options)
  • Satin matte finish
  • Dries quickly
  • Easily available online

Cons :

  • Texture is a bit thick

Verdict : A-

Price : Rs.199 / 9 ml

Recommendation : In a nutshell, the USP of this product is the matte finish and lovely lavender colour. If you haven’t hopped onto the #MatteNails bandwagon yet, this is a good start.

I personally don’t like the matte finish of nail paints but this pastel shade is so god to try once at such affordable price.

Its not a 100% true matte, more of a velvet matte :)

This pastel shade is beautiful! Also, I’m loving the dessert themed names.

The names are scrumptious :P White Chocolate Ganache, Black Cherry Pie & Blueberry Macaron are my favourites.
