We’re ALWAYS curious to know which makeup products the pros like to use. So we ask some of our favourite professional makeup artists to deconstruct a bridal look in our #BridalMakeupBreakdown series. Even if you’re not a bride-to-be, you can recreate these looks because they’re subtle and oh so pretty. In this volume, we asked Makeup Artist Divya Shetty to reveal how she went about real bride Sneha’s wedding makeup and she was more than happy to tell all.
Divya says “Bride Sneha Parab was very clear that she wanted a very simple yet traditional look for her wedding. Also, since the event was during the day we opted for subtle makeup highlighting her best features. In terms of hair also she was quite clear that she wanted a bun with fresh mogra flowers.
Face : First, I prepped the skin with Clinique moisturizing gel and then followed it up by applying Urban Decay pore perfector. Then used the Lush Feeling Younger skin tint and Benefit Posietint. Posie tint is a poppy pink lip and cheek stain. I generally apply tint first and then the base so it looks more flushed and natural. If you’d like to try it this way, I suggest applying a little more blush than usual so when you apply the base it lightens and looks natural.
For the Base, I first covered the under eye dark circles with Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer 4.0 (the best shade for Asian skin) followed by using the Base 4.5 moisture rich from Bobbi Brown. To set it in place I powdered with Mac NC 41. Then I used the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre 5801 on the T-zone and cheek bones to add a glow to her skin.
Eyes : For the brows, Urban Decay brow box in Brown Sugar. On the lids, the lightest gold from Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer brick in copper diamond. In the crease and corners, I used taupe from MUD. For highlighting above the crease, Chanel Illusion D’Ombre 5801. The Eyeliner used for this look is Inglot AMC eyeliner gel 77.
The Lashes were PAC 213 and finally Maybelline Volume Express waterproof mascara completed the eye makeup.
Lips : Lined and filled the lips with a lip pencil from Diana of London berry bloom 04. Topped it off with the lipstick shade Pink 06 from Bobbi Brown.
