From the brand : A lip pencil with a soft consistency for outlining the lips with utmost precision. Ultra long lasting. Dermatologist tested. Define your lips with our collection of new and improved lip liners. Highlighting the shape of your lips has never been so fuss free.

Ingredients : Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, C10-18 Triglycerides, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Synthetic Beeswax, Mica, Myristyl Lactate, Candelilla Cera, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Dimethiconol Behenate, Cera Microcristallina, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Polyglyceryl-2 Oleate, Bht, Sorbic Acid, Ethylparaben

Packaging : It is a regular pencil that needs sharpening and comes with a plastic cap. The white colour at the end denotes the shade of the pencil, in this case transparent. The rest of the pencil is glossy black. It does not come with its own sharpener.

USP : Everybody has a variety of lipsticks but not nearly enough lip liners. And unless you have a matching shade of lip liner, it will be visible as a darker/ lighter outline on your lips. I personally dread such a situation which is why I thought of investing in this product. There is absolutely no tint in it. Now I don’t need X number of liners to match all my lip colours, just one is sufficient.

Texture : The pencil glides on pretty smoothly and evenly on the lips. I wouldn’t call the formula ultra-creamy but its decent for a pencil. It is not overly waxy or heavy when applied. My lips are dry (especially during winters) so it did feel drying but when used after moisturizing the lips, it wasn’t so bad.

Effectiveness : A good base, it helps in outlining lips and preventing liquid lipsticks or glosses from smudging; keeping them in check and acting like a barrier. I like to use it with deeper red lipsticks and also lipsticks that are transfer proof because they need more precision. They are harder to correct or remove because they set upon drying. It is a good idea to take time while applying them and using a lip liner.

When I tried the product with paler hues of lip colours (outlined + filled in my lips), I noticed that it brought out their true colours and increased their intensity. It may be because the lip colour rests on top of the clear product and not directly on the lips. The pencil can also be used to clean up the edges post lipstick application and make it more well defined.

Some people claim that clear lip liners smoothen out fine lip lines but that wasn’t the case with me. I did not notice any significant reduction in them.

Pros :

  • Transparent – useful underneath all shades of lipsticks
  • Universal – works for all skin tones
  • Prevents feathering

Cons :

  • A bit drying
  • Contains Parabens

Verdict : B+

Price : Rs. 395 / 1.4 gm

Recommendation : If you are someone who likes to outline lips with a liner before applying lipsticks or like to wear dark vampy (even black) lipsticks then this transparent lip pencil will definitely come in handy. It helps in precisely defining lips and increasing intensity + wear time of lip colours.
