Every girl takes inspiration from Bollywood celebrities – be it wedding looks, fashion choices or even makeup. In this volume of #MakeupBreakdown we asked Mumbai based Makeup artist Gia to decode Malaika Arora’s Lakme Fashion Week look. This is a look you can replicate for an upcoming wedding. Over to Gia :

“Malaika donned a striking Divya Reddy lehenga with vivid colors. To balance out the entire look, it was important to tone down her makeup and finish with a sleek low bun. The first step is to prep the skin with Kiehls Ultra Facial moisturizer. Then prime the face with Mac Prep & Prime. Since this is a daytime look with medium coverage, a sheer layer of NARS Sheer Glow foundation in the color Cádiz would be perfect. Then Bobbi Brown peach corrector should be placed right on the under eye area, corner of nose and mouth to correct any discoloration. For fresh cheeks, Benefit Posie Tint to be applied right on to the apples of the cheeks in a patting motion. For Finishing powder go for the super translucent powder by Laura Merciér.

The look is a traditional one, so it’s essential to have the eyes highlighted. The lid area is washed with a neutral tamper color – Constructivist Paint pot by MAC . Colorbar I Glide eye pencil can be used to line the waterline and the upper lid. It is set in place and diffused to give the illusion of a smokey eyeliner with a dark chocolate eyeshadow – Embark by MAC. Finish up the eye makeup with two generous coats of They’re Real by Benefit mascara. Her eyebrows are very strong and are filled in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate.

For the lips, Huda Beauty Liquid Matte lipstick in the color “Bombshell” would be perfect. And voila, that’s the complete look!”
