Don’t think morning brides can rock a smokey eye ? Real bride Guneet from Chandigarh shows us just how to pull it off with aplomb. We also love how the emerald beads in her jewellery beautifully contrast her pink lehenga. And the pom pom kaleere are too cute for words ! Like us, if you are also wondering which gorgeous shade of lipstick she’s wearing ; read on because we asked her makeup artist Rehat to decode the entire look. Turns out she mixed two popular MAC shades.

Rehat reveals, “I started Guneet’s makeup with Hourglass mineral veil Primer and then proceeded to Foundation + concealer by NARS. The formulation of NARS concealer is amazing. It is also paraben free, alcohol free, synthetic fragrance free and non comedogenic. To set the base makeup in place, I used the Setting powder by Laura mercier. The one tip that I give to all my brides is that skin cleansing and moisturizing is the key to make any kind of makeup look good. If the skin is undernourished, it will show through immediately. So, everyone whether bride-to-be or not should focus on keeping their skin moisturized.

Moving on to the cheeks, NARS Orgasm blush was used. It is a warm peachy pink with a soft focus gold sheen. The shimmer just looks like a beautiful thin gold sheen on your cheek and doesn’t look chunky or obtrusive at all. For the illuminator, I went with MAC ‘soft and gentle’ which is a lovely gilded peach bronze colour. Its pigmentation is quite good and is long lasting. If you want to brighten up your face, this is the product for you.

I did a brown smokey eye with the help of matte brown shades from the Morphe palette 35F and defined her eyebrows using Benefit ‘gimme brow’. For her lips, I decided a deeper shade would look best so I mixed MAC Ruby woo & MAC Sin lipsticks. Her bindi was a simple one that matched the lipstick perfectly. To finish her bridal makeup, MAC Fix+ setting spray was applied that ensured it wouldn’t budge all day. With that Guneet was all set to say I do.”
