There are about a GAZILLION eye shadow palettes in the market. Nudes, mattes, shimmery, pearl finish, metallic finish – in a variety of different shades. They say choice is a good thing but when there are so many choices, selecting one can be a little overwhelming. So I decided to solve the problem, cut the riff-raff and round up the best palettes that suit Indian skin (across both affordable and luxe categories). And since I’m no expert, I decided to ask my favourite bridal makeup artist – Shruti Sharma. Here’s what she had to say :
Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow palette (Rs.899)
While the shades aren’t super pigmented, It has a good mix of everyday nudes in shimmery, pearl finish and matte textures, all in one palette. It is versatile enough to create everyday subtle looks as well as proper smokey eye styles. The shades are easy to apply, blend smoothly and if you’re a makeup newbie, you should definitely check this one out. Also pocket friendly and easily available in India.
Dior 5 Couleurs 157 Magnify ($62)
157 Magnify has soft pink and berry shades that are so hot right now! They are so pigmented and have a beautiful satin finish. Just pure love! The hues are super-flattering on Indian skintones. So if you’re tired of the browns and nudes – have some fun, experiment, try some of these delicious shades.
Dior 5 Couleurs 647 Undress ($62)
647 Undress has neutral beige and brown shades. This palette has all the necessary hues to create simple as well as sultry eye makeup looks. A perfect companion on your holidays with its compact and travel friendly packaging. A tad bit on the expensive side, but you won’t be disappointed.
P&B Picks: Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Pallette
Mehak :” While in Paris, I wandered into Sephora holding a list of items my cousin (who is equally obsessed with beauty) had sent me . On the list- Two faced sweet peach eyeshadow pallete. Ofcourse, the name got me at hello but OMG is this pallette stunning. So many soft peachy hues for girls who like subtle washes of color and not bright sparkly stuff on their eyes. My favourite shades- Candied Peach, Puree, Summer Yum, Peach Pit & Caramelized. See more about it on Makeup & Beauty Forever Blog”
P&B Picks: Huda Beauty Rose Gold Pallette

Mehak says “While these shadows are a bit more shimmery than what I usually wear, this eyeshadow pallette is super versatile and has so many warm, gorgeous shades. Specially with Indian wear- the combination of the frosty coppers and rose golds with the warm browns is perfect for Indian skin tones – specially dusky ones”
