After seeing lehengas day in and day out as part of the job at WMG, there isn’t too much that gets me excited about lehengas. But Papa don’t preach’s new collection called The Reign Of Gaia, is inspired by Greek aesthetics and I want EVERY single piece. This collection is creative, edgy, graceful and elegant. If you’re a bride who loves innovative and modern silhouettes, you’re in for a treat ! My two favourite pieces are the emerald green lehenga and the mint layered skirt with blush pink bralet. Adorable. Need a wedding to happen stat.
Papa Don’t Preach’s latest offering has utterly beautiful feminine pieces with delicate workmanship. I’m totally smitten by the headgears, 3D threadwork, cutwork acrylics and metal coin embellishments. This collection boasts of off shoulder tops, draped dhoti skirts, dhoti pants and even body con lehengas !
Gaia Duchess Jane (Rs. 280,000) – I like this piece because it is so different from what’s currently available in the lehenga market. A silver sequinned bralet with a steel gray wrap up top and emerald velvet lehenga. One can see the attention to detail in the stonework motifs meticulously embroidered all over it.
Quartz (Rs. 110,000) – The intricate bralet has been embellished with floral 3D embroidery and beads. The half satin silk jacket is a perfect symphony of Indian and Western silhouettes. And it has the cutest bow ! I just LOVE the blush pink sharara bottoms that complete this ensemble.
Dahlia Radiance (Rs. 89,900) – A pure crepe saree with a colour that’s so easy on the eyes – Periwinkle blue ! Lurex Watercress (Rs. 165,000) – And this multi layered skirt with mint and forest green shades is so so pretty. The blouse is a blush and gold lace number with metal charms and floral sequins.
Ecstasy Licorice (Rs. 138,000) – Adore the trail on this mermaid skirt. It has a certain princess-y allure to it and if you are a #SisteroftheBride, you must check this out.
So, which piece is your favourite ?
